Time for new brake pads

I'm sick of the OEM pads and having to clean my wheels nearly every day. So which are best considering dust, noise, performance and price? I only do normal driving so they don't need to be ultra performance but I don't want any worse than OEM. Lack of significant dust is also a top priority. Noise consideration is a close second. Finally, price. They have to be reasonably priced.

Akebono, Duralast and Wearever are all that are available in-store around here. Duralast and Wearever are bargain brands and I've not heard of Akebono before so I guess I'll order online.

Thoughts?

I would try some Akebonos as a lot of the car forums rate them.
No experience of them myself though.

Hmmm... I read up on the EBC Red Stuff as it's supposed to be good for sport applications and reduces dust. Problem is no one sells them locally and I can't seem to find a place online that doesn't have a long lead time for shipment.

I could get some Akebonos for the fronts and see how they work. The auto parts store is just down the road. I'll let you know how it goes!

I decided to try the Textar e-pads on the front as an experiment as they're supposed to be a low-dust option.
Performance is similar to or better than the OEM I had, no squeeling so pleased there.
Unfortunately I can't compare the front/rear for brake dust yet as I haven't had chance to give the wheels a good clean since the hosepipe ban came in down here.

So I was driving to the store and thought twice about changing the pads... They are $150 for all four wheels and that's money that could be spent on refurbishing my factory rims and turning them black. The stock pads preform very well, are silent and still have more than 50% left. I think I'm just going to save up to re-do the wheels and kill two birds with one stone. Certainly won't notice a little dust on black rins, eh?
