Time for a Service - any recommendations?

Hey everyone, it's about time for a service (Inspection 2) for my 2003 2.5i Roadster (done around 62000 miles now) and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good Indy in or around my area (Farnborough, Hampshire)?

I am prepared to travel somewhat for a good one (roughly about a 25 mile radius). I have looked through the previous thread where everybody added their recommendations but didn't see any close to me, so I either missed it or there weren't any!

Also, if anyone has done one recently on a similar car I would be interested to know what sort of price range I am looking at too?

Thanks.......

I found Cooper Reading to be very accommodating when price matching against a local indy. I recently had my Inspection 2 done there. Whilst it wasn't as cheap as the indy, for some reason I wanted to have it done at the main dealer.

Secondly, whilst I've not had a service done there, I've had good experiences with and I've heard very good things about Steve at Berkshire Motor Works in Sindlesham, nr Wokingham. His number is 0118 979 8448. He was by far the cheapest local indy to me, and I've had him do work on my E85 before. Very friendly and the local BMW/Audi indy dealer uses him regularly too, so he knows his stuff.

Farnborough, Sunningdale and Basingstoke BMW dealers were all silly expensive and wouldn't go anywhere near the prices I was being quoted for an Inspection 2.

I'd recommend an Indy over most dealers tbh. Even though most dealer prices are not far off an Indy. The stamp might be worth more to some people. I've wouldnt know who would be working on my car. My last car ( 325 e46) was only serviced by a a dealer. On a number of occasions basic things like stamping the book have been missed off. And selling my car on with a fbmwsh didn't bring me anymore cash.

On my M however I've chosen a specialist Indy (birds in Iver). Who know their m cars and who I trust completely. They were cheaper too, sorted out little problems without me mentioning it was there and I know who might be working on my car.

Thanks chaps I will check those out and if anyone has any more recommendations please let me know.

had an inspection 2 on my 2.5 2 weeks ago at coopers in boldon (bit far for you) 339£ local indi wanted 295, but i thought the fbmwsh was worth the little extra

fbmwsh is what i look for as i bought a bm a while age full service history didnt check it found out it had a oil service instead of an inspection 1. done by an indy rang them up and they said that the customer wanted only an oil service.went round to see the previous owner and he said he wouldnt pay out the costs at that time as he was getting rid of e46 325.but sold car on to a dealer anyway.
