Time for a change

Really? Two dealers that i've expressed interest in a M2 with have said the earliest they can get one in for is in 18 months time.

Let me know how you get on, you've got exactly the same spec as me! M2 is awesome, not so convinced by the 235, I'd rather save cash with the 135 and buy the m2 sooner! Worth checking the one series as I thought the ride was better...

Call around a few dealers, if you're serious and will put a deposit they'll find a build slot quick enough.

There's 20 or so with low mileage available now without any premium attached...

There is absolutely no 18 month waiting list for an M2, the most you'll wait is 3 months.

Bmw are perpetuating that to create the illusion of super high demand!
Aren't there any showroom M2's or low mileage car for sales…in Germany there are some for sale….don't know how the situation is with RHD M2's?

I have a 2006 Z4M (roadster) and a M2 on order :) http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=88558

Personally I would not trade in a Z4M coupe for a M235i or M240i. Those are great car's; but in my opinion not in the same league as a full blown M-car. On a side note; there is a lot more then that engine on the M2. The engine in the M2 is in my opinion the least interesting thing of the car and will not be remembered as one of the all time great M engines. You can have the M235i, M240i and tune it to the same amount of power as the M2…but like I said…the M2 is so much more then its engine. In my opinion; the M2 is an awesome car…the M235i is great car. Coming from a M car it would feel like a step down for me to go to a M235i or M240i…those two don't excite me that much as the M2 does. But that's me
And I'm very lucky to be able to keep my Z4M roadster besides the M2

The used price of RHD Z4M car's are rather low in the UK. In my area (Belgium, Netherlands, Germany) you can not find a decent LHD Z4M coupe below the price of £23.000… The value of my Z4M roadster is about the same as when I bought in 2010.

Agrees I'd save for an m2
Had m235i.
Great car etc etc etc
Flappy paddle so end up being lazy using auto
And it's utterly sterile bar over runs;)
My z4mr demands I drive it like a terrier
It's alive almost live
Noise feel presence etc etc rarity
M235i I simply feel isn't special
As a good few are middle management cars which ruins them and doesn't look special enough I feel
