Time for a Change

Thanks all,

Popped into the dealer this arvo and placed the order :) I've been told delivery around 20th June but realistically I would say 8 weeks so more likely July.

Kevin, I've specced the following, have tended to go for the practical options

Glacier Silver.
Coral Red leather.
Hex aluminium trim with gloss black finisher.
Black panel display.
M adjustable suspension.
Folding mirrors.
Comfort access.
Front and rear parking sensors.
Non runflats Michelin sports

I nearly changed the body colour to Estoril Blue as they had an M5 wearing it in the showroom and looked gorgeous but have stuck with boring silver :)

I'm unsure what to expect with the adaptive suspension as the car I tested didn't have it fitted so hoping I've made a right choice :?

If I hadn't spotted the dealer offer I may have gone for a VW Up as planned..... :)

Practical options?

Tim - you are mis-reading the "car buyers guide"....there was a typo on page 115, where it says "Optional Extra's".

It should have read "Optional ESSENTIALS!!!!"..

Nice car...so the wait begins!!!!

haha, cheers, they come fairly well specced as standard , well for me anyways, I fancied the sunroof and thought of heated seats etc but it goes on and the price creeps up. Alot of stuff I know I wouldn't use so a waste of money to be honest.

Love the new steering wheel which came in last March :)

Very nice Tim

Did you get a good deal then?

Cheers, I've stayed on the same PCP payments as I'm currently paying on the Zed so happy with that.

The dealer offer was, 3k contribution by them, nearly 2K BMW contribution plus 500 quid loyalty bonus and 2995 customer deposit.

I got 19K for the Z4 which has cleared the PCP with some left over to cover the 1871 of options over and above customer deposit.

I'm a little disapointed I didn't get a little more for Zed, glasses guide reckons £20300 for one in excellent condition, but then I'm getting a fair chunk off the 1 Series with dealer and BMW contributions so I feel not too bad.

Nice spec Martyn, have you tried the adaptive suspension? I went for it on the advice of the guys on BabyBMW so hoping it#s a good addition.

Hi Tim

No never tried the adaptive, but it makes a lot of sense, a lot of the time I will want a comfortable cruiser then the occasional blast with it set to sport. Will see how good it is once the car is here!

Nice one Tim
I guess silver + red was expected
But you do know its a left hand drive model don't you?

Just what I was thinking, kinda glad its not fitted with runflats as standard so will be a nice change.

I do love those alloys!

If I thought Deb could be trusted not to curb them I'd like a set for her car. However, as I know she will curb them, I just couldn't do it!

Its always a worry when the other 1/2 gets in.... My outgoing Seat has 18" alloys and the front right has been trashed by the ex (who I share it with) I think she will be too scared to drive the M135i bacause any scratch on those alloys would be big trouble! So may get it to myself...!

After paying to have her car detailed in the past, she had some curbing on her alloys. When it went to the bodyshop for a quote (some twat reversed into her) I asked them to quote for the wheels. they said about £90 each. I turned to her and said is she happy to pay that, and she basically said she wasn't bothered!

So imagine how I felt....I'm trying to keep HER car in top condition, and she doesn't give a sh1t!

She got her new 1'er last week and had it detailed at the weekend, but she paid for it! Asked the dealer not to touch the car in terms of washing it and my detailer said it was the best condition new car he'd seen...meaning no dealer inflicted swirls! It has 18" wheels as standard, but those M135i ones really turn me on!

Estoril does look lovely but I didn't go for it as I just felt its just a little too eyecatching and not for the right reasons, I'll probably regret it now :|
