Time for a change 2

Wow John, can't believe you're changing.

I'll be sad to see mine go too, amazing car. But I need to try other stuff before I too old/skint to be able to enjoy them.

Yes I'm staying with a Z4.

Ordered a 23i M sport. There's some grest deals at present on the last of the 6 cylinder engined cars. Decent spec with heated seats and nav. So I can still attend our meets, I don't intend to be a bit 'standoffish' like some of those other E89 owners :poke:

wow, we can all relax now, great choice of car

Dave,

I don't blame you! I 'm 60 next month and am starting to look at cutting down on work so having one car is a practical solution for me. will miss the 'M' of course which is why i'm not tempted by a 09 plate 35i. It just isn't as good as the 'M' as a hardline sports car.

Taz i'm trying to be pleased about picking up a 61 plate Z4  but it shows how much I love the 'M' because I just can't get excited about it! :) At least I get to still take the p##s out of you coop owners!

Glad u are sticking with a z4 John...would have missed u on the forum meets, big time, mate. (not to mention ur awesome routes/drives)...so glad u are sticking with a z4.
i thought u had decided to keep the M for another yr or 2?

I am sure u will enjoy the nice, shiny new e89..just try not to have too many withdrawal symptoms from ur MR,lol.
What colour have u went for? I take it Tony 2 coupes has bought ur MR then??

Hi John - So you're doing it. Thought you would as talked about in the Lakes. Just glad you're sticking with a Zed and not a little 4 cylinder sports car :)

Expect you to be leading runs still :poke:

Will miss the power for sure but as CJ mentions I did intend to replace both cars with an MX5 so this is a big step up from that!

Took a 23i out for the afternoon and was quite taken with it. Nice exhaust note when you get the revs up, responsive in sport or sport+, if I had a criticism it would be that the bling 19 inch wheels probably spoil the handling slightly and it would be better on 18s or less. But wheel size/ride/peformance always a good argument waiting to happen :)

Car is a 23i M sport highline with Nav and internet etc etc, 19s -not the ones that crack all the time just some of the time lol :D in titanium silver with black leather.

Will advertise the car next week and it would be great if a forum member bought it but we will have to see :)

Good choice  . I have not seen a Titanium Silver E89 on the road. Are you buying the demo/AUC or brand new car?

Buying a brand new unregistered car that is somewhere in BMWs main storage shed :) So will go on a 61 plate when it arrives.
When we went through the available cars in the UK there were 15 in white and one in silver :( How times have changed! It's my favorite colour for the E89 so was made up when they found an M sport highline for me :)

Well yes I had a 'rethink' !

A few days after I placed a deposit for a new Z4 I was told in work that my job was 'under review' and that I'd be getting a 90 notice sometime in October.

In the circumstances it seemed crazy to take on the cost of a new Zed. I had to let Guiseley down as well as he was keen to buy my 'M' . ( yes Tony two coops was buying a roadster  )

I get my 90 day notice this Wednesday and will have a better idea of job prospects then. I should be OK but as I'm now 60 I was woried I might be dumped so hence my caution :) Up side is I get to keep the 'M' for a little while longer.

Williams Liverpool refunded most of my deposit but their attitude was very poor, they largely ignored my calls and E mails and I had to chase them for 8 weeks before they gave me my money back. Not much incentive to go back to them in the future I have to say. You often only realise how good or bad someoone's customer service is when things go wrong!

Ah OK shame you missed out on 'the deal' as they look horrendously expensive otherwise. Hope the job situation works out for you.

Shush :silence: I was just buying it for a friend :bag: what happens if Taz finds out :ninja: I'll be drummed out of the Coupe Club

p.s. Look forward to seeing it again in 2012 on the legendary wales runs :)

Tony, pity you missed the Dales run :driving: we were blessed with good weather and empty roads. Told on Thursday my jobs gone! :(

So have to apply for one of the remaining posts. May have to sell the 'M' to feed the family! lol.

cheers guys :) I'm hopeful I can sort something out, but once you reach 60 you always wonder if there's an agenda to push you out. I'll go kicking and screaming though!
