Throttle Cut Out

I have a 3.0 model. Maybe once a month while driving at any speed the throttle will cut out and stop working, a few warning lights appear on the dash and the revs drop and bounce from idle to about 1200 or so. Turning the car off and back on again solves the problem temporarily. No ideas about the cause yet although I think it might be a problem caused by the ABS computer because just as the throttle becomes useless you can feel a quick slow down as if the brake grabbed for a half second or so. Anyone have a similar issue?

Sounds like the DSC kicking in, dash will flash a yellow triangle with "!". I think it cuts power to the engine and applies brakes individually to prevent the vehicle from losing control. But this only should happen when you are cornering at a high speed, about to lose control, or losing traction with snow, not at any speed.
