Like I said in an earlier post, some of you refuse to use anything other than V Power fuel, which is about 15% more expensive. If you can justify the hike in fuel for the car, do you consider your needs less worthwhile? As has been said, its not just the products, but the better experience. It may be that other Tesco and Asda stores aren't as bad in some areas, but in Hull for example, the Asdas are placed in undesirable locations, and on a typical day will be full of jeremy kyle types with 5 kids running around them, swearing, drunks etc.
For me, I hate shopping there not just for the food, as branded goods are the same everywhere, but for the experience.

Because of our lifestyle (out at 06:30, home after 19:00 on weekdays), we tend to eat quite a number of pre-prepared meals. I don't normally notice, but my wife has pointed out (and I have to agree with her) that the quality of these at Tesco's has gone badly downhill lately, and that Sainsbury's are much nicer for about the same price. M&S meals are much nicer again, for not a lot more money.ben g said:
We did a shop in Waitrose recently, and it turned supermarket shopping into an almost-tolerable experience (and the food was good). Well worth the extra cost.

Yes I'm a Waitrose shopper and I like the fact that the Willerby store isn't always crowded like others, and you don't get mothers with a few children all running around with runny noses. plus chav's don't appear to like the place which is good.
I also use their cafe as well which is nice.

What you will find is that M&S is actually cheaper on some of there food prices than Tesco,although i think that maybe area dependent...
Tesco food is very poor quality.....Although like has been mentioned,tinned and non perishables are all much of a muchness...
Apart from the crap quality,its the ethics of HOW Tesco go about selling there goods to people that really gets my goat..
I live pretty much in the sticks...Nearest Tesco is 3 miles away,its in the nearest town.. But if i widen my search for a Tesco store to 20 miles then there is 88 stores within that area... That is just ridiculous!!!!

Just read my posts... The business ethics they possess is non existent.. They move into communities and oblitarate all local business's,kill high streets and put everyone else out of business from your smallest newsagent to your franchised petrol station...
Then buy land and leave it derelict so no other supermarket could potentially move in...Top that with poor quality food,price fixing and its al allround no go area for me..
Dont start me off on Tesco China that sell live animals for its customers to eat!!

It is against the law for a trader to deliberately give misleading or wrong prices, and they can be prosecuted for doing this.
However, if the price of a product is just simply wrongly labelled you don't automatically get to buy it for that price. For example, if a TV worth £599 has accidentally been labelled as £5.99 you don't, unfortunately, have a right to buy it for £5.99.
When I was working at Toys R Us, we were told if we priced incorrectly then the managers could be liable to go to prison..!

We have most of the major supermarkets within a 15 min drive.
1. Lidl, does exactly what is says, no pomp just good prices
2. Morrisons, for the things Lidl doesn't stock
3. Sainsburys, it's a small one and easy to pop in for those last minute items.
Never been a Tesco customer, and don't have an Asda close enough for it to make sense.

That site makes one wonder how America became so successful. Of course that site might just show why America is falling away from success. Some folks just haven't one bit of shame nor respect for themselves or those around them.
