Thoughts on wheel fitment

Looking at a pretty good deal for some Breyton GTS wheels that are a square setup - 18x7.5 ET35

I'm thinking these will be a nice upgrade to the stock 16s on my 2004 z4 but wanted to be sure these will fit nicely with some 225/40/18 tires.

The other option I am considering is a staggered set of style 397 wheels 18x8 ET34 and 18x8.5 ET47

Thanks for your input/recommendations.

If you haven't already, then check any new setups vs stock, here...

Well the 397's look more standard/OEM and the Breyton's a bit like CSL copies. Depends on what you like.
What are you gravitating towards?

EDIT: Also, 397's are F model wheels aren't they? For me they would probably be too 'modern' for the E85, but I've been known to have no taste, so feel free to ignore me!

my z4 is red with black top and the style 397s are the bi-color machined/black, which I think could look really good but the breytons are really nice as well and tires would be somewhat cheaper with square 225/40s. Wish i could see a pic of the 397s on the e85 z4.

Do you have a photo of your car you could post?

I managed to find a red Z4 picture (unfortunately it seems to have PVR driving it in the flatlands).
Anyway, I very quickly mocked up 397 wheels on it for you. Looks pretty good.

Thanks for doing that - both look great. This is going to be tough.

Any chance you could update the 397 one to the bi-color black/machined. Have a feeling they would look sportier in that color combo.

Not sure what that finish would look like in real life - plus I’ve shut my Mac for the day

Very satisfied with how it came out.
Looks nice. Good decision IMHO
Diamond cut wheels are almost impossible to keep nice for long. One chip in the lacquer and the 'whiteworm' gets in.
