Thoughts on this Z4M

I've learnt something today. Wish mine had! Oh well. Still think its overpriced but happy for folks to tell me these have increased in price in the last year.

I think it can be retrofitted but not many companies around that can. Couple of posts on the topic.

Here's one.

Cheers Rialas. From the looks of your regular parking escapades in Touchwood, you must be local to me. Do you know if anyone in the Midlands offers this? Come to think of it, whilst I've got everyone's attention for making such a clearly misguided statement, does anyone know? Failing this, I may be going to South Shields soon. I hear it's great in the Autumn.

In my defence, I test drove two ///Ms and looked at a number on Autotrader over a four week search before opting for my current car and none of them had cruise. Having seen a few threads about how limited the retrofit was, I clearly added 2+2 and got my own answer!

Sorry!

I think it's overpriced considering we're coming to the end of the summer. I picked mine up in February this year with similar mileage (15,400) and pretty much the same spec for £14,900. I'm not bowled over by the interior but as others have said, if you like it that's all that matters. I'd be surprised if it does have cruise control as advertised as I believe this wasn't an option on the ///M. If its in great nick, then definitely worth a haggle as the price will almost certainly come down over the winter and I'd imagine the dealer will want to sell it before next Spring.
You can see the cruise control stalk in the 4th photo in the ad.

The looks etc are all subjective. What I'd be more interested in - service history, does it have the vital run in service. Has the oil been changed according to the service schedule. Are all the inspections present when due?

Great to have low mileage, but have been too many examples missing vital service items which void potential warranty claims etc should you need to claim at a later date.

Condition and history are more important to me than mileage

Cruise control can be retrofitted in an hour or so for a few hundred pounds. I had mine fitted by CPC Performance Engineering in Buckinghamshire.
As for the ///M, it looks good although I'd prefer a different interior. As Adamski has said, service history is important including the run in service being on time.
I drive passed this garage frequently and they always have amazing cars. If you go there to see the Zed, you'll want to leave in something a 100K more!

Thanks for the replies. I agree it looks a little over priced. I viewed another Z in this colour over the weekend and its actually really nice, especially with the sun on it, I was quite surprised and its moved up into position two for purchase colour! Viewed a couple of others which were described as 'mint' 'immaculate' etc why do people waste others time when they are far from it? I am not handing over £16k and then having to spend £2k sorting various dents, scuffs and scratches out :headbang:

Search continues.

Cheers,

Simon.

Hi PVR, Unfortunately I ran out of time on Saturday as I viewed three other cars. I was hoping to see this one last as it was the furthest away but the traffic was against me. I called them up to let them know hoping to go on Sunday but they are closed on Sundays. All being well I shall take a look this Saturday.

Cheers,

Simon.

Good luck, to find the best one it always takes some time.

Took me 6 months in 1995 to find my unmarked MK1 Golf Cabrio and like you, the "immaculate" ones sometimes even had water floating in the headlamps ... :x

Viewed the car in the first post - another unloved example. All of the front underside scuffed and split from speed bumps I would guess. Front wing had been swiped and plenty of door dings on the driver’s side. A smashed rear brake light and missing aerial. Apparently this is a mint condition car according to the salesman. I had a look around the showroom and the cars in there weren’t in the best condition a 911 turbo and 360 were both very poor. A Romans International this garage aint! I wouldn’t buy a car from this garage and wasnt best pleased to have had my time wasted. Apparently they have had a bid on the car from Sytner.
One thing though, in the flesh this colour combo was very nice.
