Thoughts on this Z for sale?

What does anyone think of that ^^ wondering about visiting it tomorrow.

My thoughts - price a tad on the high side. Parkers reckon its worth about £11,300. (Iphone app indie price, with heated seats and alloys selected on the extra page)
 
Reasonable standard car in a good colour, but missing Sports seats, xenon headlights and sat nav. The 3 options that make it different.

Wheels are well sought after.

Don't like cars with wshiny heel black on or interior mats taken out to look 'newer'
 
If your happy to look at that one for £11.5, Why not take a look at mine? As you'd mentioned you were'nt keen on the wheels, could swap them for standards easily enough..Link below...

Its, a MUCH better spec, cheaper, and lower milage.. I'm in Bristol next weekend if you wanted a look, so wouldn't be too far to travel.
 
Parkers say's: Independant dealer £10,920 and private good £10,150 So just from that alone i would say yea to much especially as its missing some good options. If you do go and look at it though take a print out of parkers with you! And use it to haggle :thumbsup:
 
Before you consider the price you need to know when it needs the next service, what the rubber is like (do you want RFTs) and are any 'little' jobs needed as these add up. & Is it straight and HPI clear? Parkers can be very wide of the mark for specialist motors - the real test is, can you find a better car cheaper? It took me ages to find the right car for me and I paid top private money to secure it. If I keep it right it will still be worth more than an average or rough example.

Personally I would try the sports suspension against standard to see if it suits; the set up was too unforgiving for spirited driving on real roads IMO, but that was on RFTs.

Be patient, prices will follow the thermometer this winter.

Very true - you make a very good point. Starting to think its not worth going to see....

Thing is, my current car is an 04 reg, and maybe its a bit irrational, but I want to get something that's at least slightly newer - which is putting me off your otherwise very tempting car... :oops:

I've bought and sold a little in the past and December to Feb is cheap for rag tops but can be hard to find as owners hang on. However it's going to be a cold and miserable winter and I have a feeling that once Christmas is out of the way the real cuts will be announced and there could be a lot of unfortunate people looking to sell expensive toys. I'm not advocating taking advantage but you don't want to buy at top dollar and see your 'investment' drop like a stone. Hold out for the best car with a sensible vendor and grab it, quality will always find a buyer but indifferent motors get hard to sell in a thin market.
 
Over-priced for a pre-facelift model (with no sat nav, sport seats and xenon headlights). Not even pay £9k for it. :thumbsdown: My 2006 (56) 2.5i Sport (AUC) with xenon was only £12.5k in Jan 2009.

Most main dealers want to boost sales for year-end in December, so you may get a good deal next month.

Some value around at the moment! The third one takes my eye with only 20k miles and a hardtop, looks good if you are after a car to keep and use for best, but probably not if you want a daily driver or change cars frequently.
 
Hard-top is worth £1k regardless of colour. People will buy and respray if needed. I know it is 04, but if OP is buying pre-facelift, it doesn't really matter IMO. That hard-top will never depreciate if it is in mint condition.

The grey one has hi-fi system, xenon and PDC.

From what I've seen, there aren't many/any at that sort of spec offered at 9k - but there are some around with much higher spec about for not much/any more - so decided the leave the one in the original post alone and hold out for a higher spec.

Thanks for the links to AUC - my first choice colour is grey and I want a manual, so none quite tick the boxes. Might consider black in a month or two if nothing comes up in grey. Will keep more of an eye on AUC though, some better deals than I expected.

A belated welcome! :)

Did you go and see that one in the end? I would definitely keep an eye on the AUC cars as sometimes the extra cost can only be a few hundred quid and the fact that you get an AUC warranty will cancel that out. I bought a previous Z4 from Wellsway in Bath and the salesman there (Peter Rossiter) did me a really good deal.

Ah, hello! Small world/internet isn't it!

I didn't go to see that one in the end - after people here pointed out some of the extras it was missing, decided I wasn't so interested.

Ta for the tip re wellsway - am keeping an eye on AUC too now.
