Is there anything specific I should be looking for?
I've not driven an auto yet. Do I need to look for anything in particular? (during test drive or work done?)
I'm driving 7 hours, round trip, to see it and jet lagged to death atm so unsure of anything I may have missed as just trying to readjust. I've previously seen a 18i and 23i, both were manuals.

I've got the service history of:
1st 14 905 at BMW
2nd 26 436 BMW
3rd 37 219 Motorcare Woking (brake fluid)
4th 40 002 Motorcare Woking (front and rear brake pads)
5th 42 320 Motorcare Woking

Thanks

With regards to the auto box makes sure it's smooth you shouldn't feel any jolts or jerking. Gear changes are almost imperceptible with that box, also make sure kick down works. Other then that check the body for signs of previous paintwork and check there are no knocks or rattles from the suspension and the car doesn't pull left or right either when going straight, accelerating or braking. Check there are no whining noises or other unusual noises from things like the diff gearbox engine and finally check all the electronics works like the idrive, heated seats etc.

Check that the roof all works fine and smooth. See if you can check the inside of the wheel rims for cracks.
It has had two fails on MOT's in it's life, one for both headlights being out....possible front end damage ??
Have a good look around the front and inside the bonnet, check to see if you notice any repair work/over spray.
Or ask the seller if it has had any repair work done before you drive down

Got those wheels on mine. 18" and dead easy to keep clean. I've been led to believe they are not so prone to cracking, but would be daft not to check if you are able to.

Looks like a nice car as far as you can tell on the piccys..spec is good except cruise control which Forum specialists can retrofit easily..

Others have suggested things to look at...there weren’t many changes to it around that time ...so if it looks right, drives right it should be ok..IMHO

Headlights are failing simply because they are too high. Mine failed on headlights, they readjusted them and then passed the car.
When dark i rechecked them and they seemed acceptable to me.
So wouldn't worry too much about mot fail on head lights.

My lights always passed in the past but i think the brighter Philips bulbs made it easier for them to fail the headlights.
