Thoughts on this ///M

So this gem caught my eye

http://www.drivingrange.co.uk/bmw-z4-m-3.2-sat-nav-special-order-mega-spec-in-mid-glamorgan-2367903

The colour, spec and individualness of of makes it special to me - maybe becuase my current one is similar but yellow!

So would be interested on what people think of the car in terms of the price.

The running in check was done at 1800 and not 1200. I have rang Mondial and they said no problem and the cover would be around 1350 a year. I rang my dealer and they said no problem either.

Should I be worried about the lateness of the running in check?

Anything else to be cautious of?

Thanks
Jamie

Make sure the rest of the service history is complete too (including brake fluid services for completeness), and that the mobility kit is not out of date.

At almost 40 miles and over 5 years old, it should have had either a running in service, oil service, inspection 1 and another oil service - based on a consistent average mileage over those 5 years. If it's had periods of over 2 years with no servicing then it's not been serviced correctly.

A lot of the 'high spec' extras are standard on the ///M I thought. What is the next level of service and how far before it is required. My Inspection 2 came up around 50k but it depends on how it's been driven.

Looks great, nice colour although not so sure about the Blue/Black seats.

x2

But as per other posts just check the service history otherwise any warranty could be void with regard to engine issues.

Spot on here with regards to what its had done in terms of servicing. I will need to check up on other bits you mention.

What do you / others think about the price?

Looks like the only missing options are extended leather and TV

I'd say it is at the higher end of the scale for a 40k mile roadster going by current asking prices, but then I think all the Z4Ms are being sold below their real value.

Agreed, a lot of car for the money these days, especially considering the original price.

If it hasn't had an Inspection 2 and is 'close' then expect anything up to £1000.00, tyres aren't cheap either.

My car's running in check was at 1805 miles and the original supplying dealer said thats no problem, as for the one you're looking at

when it comes to resale, the options list is good but the interior is like marmite - love it or hate it and with that, you'll potentially lose half of your buyers.

Love the spec.
Love the matching marmite interior.
Price is ok for mileage & year but not cheap.
If inspection two is due soon, then it's a little overpriced.
If tyres need changing, then it's a little over priced.

Ye pays ye money, ye takes ye chance. Looks like a nice Z from here. Take it for a spin, check the tyres, mention the inspection two and who knows, could be the one. :)

Yep - thanks. I think Inspection II and tires are for sure point to barter with!!!

If only I could find this car in a Coupe!!!

And if only it was 14k to start off with!!

Good man, glad to see you're making the right choice in terms of body style : )

Think you'll be hard pushed though to find an MC with <40k miles on, good condition/SH and lots of toys for £14k, good luck though!

If you are considering going with the BMW warranty route i would suggest buying directly from a BMW dealer.

I was looking for a while when looking for a Z4M i opted for a roadster in the end for various reasons.

I would say the car listed is not keenly priced IMO.

For reference my car (purchased in July this year) is Z4M roadster, 32k miles, Carbon Black, Nav, heated seats, Upgraded stereo, extended storage, cruise, bluetooth, wind deflector.

I paid less than that car is listed for and mine included 24 months warranty (all cars from BMW have 12 months), 1 years tax, it had just had a service (second oil), nearly new discs all round and new rear tyres. The fronts will probably last another 6-8k miles and my next service will be an ins 2.

If warranty is a must (it was for me) and considering 24 months warranty is £2700 if you can find a in a spec your happy with from BMW for a similar price or cheaper than the one above it makes a lot more sense to buy an AUC car or at least it did to me when buying.

Even if you got the car above for £13.5-14k with two years warranty it will be £16-£17k and Roadsters are on the AUC for between £14-£16k regularly at the moment.

I viewed a lot of cars and most seem to require a service, tyres or brakes reasonably soonish as they all seem to fall at different points i.e ins 1 at circa 20k, discs between 30-40k and ins 2 at 40k+ and then tyres anywhere inbetween.

HTH
