Thoughts On This History?

Am looking at buying a Z4MC and one around the right price, spec etc is looking promising. Though my only concern here is the history.

It looks to have had work carried out at more or less the right times, though some of the garages in its later life look a little questionable?

What are peoples thoughts?

 
Not ideal, but I suppose it comes down to how you feel it drives and the price compared to the FBMWSH cars
 
inspection 2 next ?

What is the name of the last garage ? it seems stamped over the incorrect area's..
 
No date on the last one or is it just me?

I wouldn't want to buy an M without FBMWSH just for piece of mind.
 
PMG in Nottingham is just a car sales place..

I bet they stamp allsorts to give the motor a bit of history......lol.....
 
I can't see a date on the top right (54,556 miles) but it seems to have an inspection 1 tick even though inspection 2 has just been carried out 4k miles before.
The next service is just an oil service and was carried out at 62k miles and 17 months after inspection 2 at 50k miles. I can't see why there would be an oil service at 54k miles as it was not needed. I would think the next service would be an inspection 1 as inspection 2 was carried out at 50k with an oil at 62k.
 
Stamped in the wrong place as well, the 41k service by unknown at unknown date.

I would run a mile, all 62727 of them :D

Thanks for all the replies, seems I was right to be slightly wary on the history. At least up to 50k it seems relatively reasonable but certainly from there on it's not great.

Shame as the car is tidy looking in pics, perhaps this could be a bargaining tool if it drives well.
 
The missing date not so much or an issue as there is only 1 year between the services either side, but I don't like the way the service book has been ticked giving little confidence as to what service was actually carried out, and the garages used so would be very cautious.
 
Yeah the ticks threw me off a little, it's confusing to say the least on what was done and when.

Maybe a few calls to service centres are needed.
 
I'd ring the garages if you get no joy id walk.

Plenty of nice M's out there with good, tidy history. Patchy service history usually mean patchy general maintenance in my experience, the same goes for tyres.... Cheap tyres = cost cutting.

Have you got/seen the service receipts to go with the service books?
I would be wary the inspection 2 being done by Lakeside Engineering. Google says Porsche and Lotus specialist which is fine but doesn't mean they know anything about BMW servicing. Just a thought. An engine is an engine at the end of the day but the M is quite specialised and wouldn't like anyone touching it that doesn't have at least some prior experience of dealing with one.
Could be a good bargaining chip though depending on its starting price.
 
Just factor in an inspection 2 in the price. Easy way, and then you know its definitely done. Diff fluid and gearbox fluid are always good to change, and be nice to see what shims need doing (if any).

You still got the M3 simon?
