Thoughts on stanced cars.

Ok I know I'm old, but I had to look at those pics about six times before I worked out what the hell was different beween those cars and a normal model, (Apart form the Coke bottle). Finaly realised they are all lowererd. Just makes them look a bit odd and can't imagine they are any good to drive either.

I'd agree with the "It's like a girl in high heels" analogy, but for the fact of high heels making a girl looks sexy being an objective statement, saying slamming cars is sexy is purely subjective.
I'd say "It's like a girl who bathes in fake tan, lives in fake eyelashes and lathers on layer after layer of make-up, it's not to every man's taste, but it does attract a certain type!"
Sometimes "girls" would look much, much better without as much "make-up". :wink:

High heels lengthen a woman's legs and create a better shape by tightening up all the muscles. 'Stancing' a car to stupidly low levels and stretching the tyres so there's a huge gap between them and the rims looks like a proper fat lass with a crop top on mistakenly believing she looks attractive with her belly falling over her skirt. Not for me I'm afraid, though there's something to be said for not caring what others think.

Are these cars air bagged? They lower them when they park and lift them to drive. A friend of mine has a Scirocco with them fitted. He can raise it and lower it and alter firmness on each corner. Cost thousands but is a well pimped car. Was on cover of Fast Car last year.
The a5 looks cool, prob because of the nice concave wheels and the blue car brown interior combo.
However the other cars are too stanced for my taste... But i understand it's all subjective, live and let live

Here is my previous car, some may like, most probably wont.
Golf MK5 GTi, lowered on FK Silverline coilovers, adjuster springs removed, arches rolled, and -4deg camber on the rear to accommodate the 9.5" rear wheels.
Mercedes Alphard wheels, 18x8.5 & 18x9.5J respectively.
Absoloutely no tyre rubbing whatsoever and completely driveable :wink:

I love the look - up to a point. If it's too low, it spoils it.
My second car was lowered c.90mm - and looked great. Rear tyre was tucked up into the arch. Front tyre had no gap between tyre and the arch.
Getting into the car was like sitting down on a skateboard.
If I could lower the zed 60mm without ripping off the bumper on bumps etc - I would. There's a Polish member on the forum with a silver MC - down 60mm on coilovers and looks great 8)
