Thoughts on putting M badges on a non M car ?

Is it tacky? It’s one very small step away from wearing these  :telloff:

Wow, Xmas at the Pastry household - you must have been so pleased with those beauties  . I guess they'll double as driving shoes for track days as well

Why would you spoil a perfectly good Z4 by putting tacky M badges on it :| :nahnah:
And Pastry, I thought your baseball pumps looked tacky when you got out of your black M, but didn't want to spoil your day tart :P

There is not a chance of me wearing those

It isn’t just owners that spoil Zeds Fredrick, BMW did a pretty good job by sticking in beige leather and a wood dash  :poke:

Because they have taste :P

We unfortunately have a car that came fitted with certain parts that have the M logo on them as part of the styling of the car. Only ones on the outside are on the wheels though.
Not much we can do about it but I too dont understand people who go out of their way to add badges that dont go with the car.
Ones I personally dont understand is Nurburgring stickers on the back of 1.0L Corsas etc.
Or all the parts suppliers listed down the wing that you just know are not fitted to the car.

I’m not a fan of badging something it’s not but feel that bumpers are fine to swap. It’s like having a pre face lift and getting rid of all the amber lenses and swapping to a face lift bumper and tails. Besides going with a M rear bumper gives a great excuse to fit a quad.

Now not to hijack a thread but should I debage the 2.5i and put the ESS badge that I have in its place? Been wondering if I should or keep it sleeper looking.

Badges, logos, stripes etc have been going on for years an years.

White Ford Cortinas had the green strip, Lotus badges a set of wide wheels.

Minis, Cooper Grill and S Badges

They were aspirational brands in their day!

OK, I'll admit to my first car (or rust-bucket) being a MK2 Cortina 1500.

It had vinyl seats, rubber mats and a small pond in the N/S/R passenger footwell (drained by taking the rubber bung out of the floor-pan)!

Got some banded 6.5 inch rims - lovely - but as it had a 1600E dash I had to enhance it's performance with some GT badges for the back panel and rear wings which cost me £2.50 IIRC!

After wobbling about in the wind getting them off the top car in the pile of 3! Health and Safety - what is that then?

But the car just got slower - not really surprising as it was sh*gged in the first place!

I gave my Nurburgring sticker to my daughter. Who had it on her old Fiesta 1.0. 8)
My wife has dozens of fridge magnets all over the fridge door. I don't see the point of either certainly it's seems to be a very feminine thing to do.

My wheels have the M badge on
