Thoughts on putting M badges on a non M car ?

I've never understood why anyone would want to add random badges onto their car. It's the most retarded thing ever.

BMW do it all the time ...

 :D total dilution of a brand but they aren't alone :(

This is true, my C200 184bhp Merc had AMG all over the place from factory. (AMG ‘Line’)

See it everywhere now, BMW, AUDI, VW etc

Anyhow badges mean shite all, it’s whats under the bonnet that counts.

'Why' is the question? :? I sort of get a well executed 'evocation' recreating a car with all the correct details if the real thing is financially out of reach, but not badges!

People who don't know BMW's won't be impressed, people that do will laugh at you :|

Some folk on here almost self implode when Z4M parts such as bumpers are installed on non Z4M's

So expect a beasting with the badges

I personally wouldn't do it (although my zhp gearknob does have one  )
Our neighbour has a 318d ///M according to it's rear, it does make me chuckle as i drive past it. They have also just had a 118i in white and subsequently plastered M badges. It now is a ///M118i with the same badges to match on the sides.
Quite funny really, but they seem to enjoy it.
Going back a bit bit i did see them when i was at college 20 years ago on a vauxhall cavalier.

On non Z4 models then They can do what they like. Personally couldn't care but I do laugh at them and sometimes point at them too.

On Z4's....
M badges on a non M car? Nope. I laugh at you.

Fitting M parts on a non M car. Nope. The front end and bonnet are the usual suspects however sticking quad exhausts on a 2.0 is a special level of comedy. I point and laugh at you.

Replacing M parts that came as standard on a non M car. Yes that's ok. Suspension, interior parts etc. If it's came out of the factory with the parts then I see no issue. Although the parts sold and fitted as M parts / M suspension etc. are probably not the exact same as M parts fitted to an M car.

Off to stick M badges on the refurbished Mv2's that came as standard from the factory!

It's a slippery slope, starting with seemingly harmless recreational 'gateway' rice like an ///M badge and next thing you are mainlining hard, class A rice like body kits and faked exhaust! Just say NO! :poke:

The forum's very own project 'Marmite' which, ironically, everybody hated :D

I have six ///M badges on my 3.0si plus an additional boot badge
oh, and I change the colour of the roundels regularly (they're back and white currently)

Rice, Spice same thing really, I'm shocked TBH but not judging, what you need right now is support. It's probably good that you know how much you are doing, so maybe time for some help before it gets out of hand
