Thoughts on carbon wrap roof

tldevon, what would you do - both sections or just the middle section?
thinking about both sections, no problem doing it as i work with vinyl all the time just wanted to see if anyone had already done this to convince myself it will look ok as the car is titanium silver may have a look at getting silver carbon fibre wrap

The black bit on the lower part of the bumper :D
For those of us with black cars, which bits are black on other colours is not always obvious :D

I dont like carbon wraps. You can instantly tell it's a wrap because it's sort of matte and not clear coated like the real thing. Why not a simple black wrap for contrast in colour? I love that combination on the Ferrari 458 Italia for example and it could look really good on the Z4. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4108/5012385467_c5eae6e2c0.jpg

I must admit I've been toying with the idea of a carbon wrap on the roof, but can't decide if it'd look tacky or not

Does anyone have any photos of an Imola Red Z4MC with the carbon wrap?

looks really good mate. Roof looks a treat - much better than a wrap. if i had a roof, i would do as you have. :P

That's gorgeous, and I love those wheels - if i wanted a roof, that's the one I would have

... so to the OP, ditch the carbon wrap - get a window tint and some gloss black going on

When I got my roof done, the guy said he could have done a gloss black for less as the vinyl is cheaper. I really like my roof and get a lot of really positive feedback on it.

Here's the post after it was done with a couple of pics.

paint and vinyl are almost the same cost depending on the shop, but vinyl will never reflect the same as a good paint job. i had mine wet sanded afterwards and buffed. it looks smoother than glass

its lowered around 2" maybe. i just eliminated wheel gap. i drive it the same way i did stock and i dont have any problems at all, and the car handles and corners incredibly well

For me it wasn't a cost issue that made me look at vinyl, it was more for the fact that it's not to everyone's taste. When it's time to move the car on I can take the vinyl off and put it back to stock.

that can be a benefit i suppose, but so far i have receieved positive feedback on the roof from everyone, and i know that i would never go back to stock while owning the car. i vinyled it for a week to see how i would like it first as well, then decided to go ahead with the paint

had my roll hoops wrapped, it only took about 6mths before the vinyl started to bubble slightly at the edges.. i know they are a different shape than a roof but i wouldn't bother on wrapping anything! paint all the way.
