The reason I posted was because I had cause to assertively manage my road position and presence this morning, something I don't do often at all on my commute. The car rewarded me by reminding me exactly what it's all about, and leaving me with an early morning adrenalin buzz of epic proportions 8)

Two of our cars have that, plus an extra two spare... (if you include reverse) :P

I am only counting "real" gearboxes, not the slush boxes :poke:

And yes - the X5 has 8 forward gears, does the X3 have the same?

Scared the hell out of me - and everyone else - with the stock exhaust at 6-7000 RPM... RPI boxes would probably have physically blown the other traffic out of my path :lol:
 
Tbh it reminded me that I really don't rag the car very much at all, it rarely needs pushed above 5k RPM to do the job. Somebody tried to pull a fast one in a Type R at some lights on the way home too, pulled out a junction onto a hatched area between lanes when they were red and went to cut me up. The car was having none of it, so I obliged :P

Must be having a yob day, letting off some steam while the roads are still dry...

I reckon third gear was my favourite in my Zed and it was in my M3 too :D

None of the gears in my 330i put a smile on my face because its a dim witted Auto! :headbang: :lol:

I have serious manual gearbox envy with you lot with Z4M`s and all Zeds with a manual. :D
