Those moments..A picture says it all...(life bites content)

That is one awesome story and has made a lot of people stop and think how they would have coped in your situation.
You deserve maximum credit and all the respect from the replies received. Very best wishes.

The world would be a much better place if more people could face tremendous difficulties in the way you have, much respect to you. Your son is the most precious thing in your life and, I am sure, will grow up to be so proud of you. As he becomes an adult, you will also probably be the very best of friends and share so many special times together. You will have to be patient during the teenage years, when hormones rage, but it passes. I hope that you also meet someone else very soon who can share both of your lives and love your son as you do. You absolutely deserve this.

You are a rare breed of man Beedub, welldone
Me personally i had a s**t dad, he had a affair and then buggered off when i was 7 and hardly seen him since and not seen him at all for many years and has always made me question my abilities has a future father.
Many failed relationships as well havnt helped and i actually feel like i will never have a family of my own as i just worry i am like my father.......big respect to you Byron.

Hats off to you Beedub, I know how hard it is to bring a son up and his mum and I are together so you've done an outstanding job.

I'll tell you what Johnny you'll be fine, all this stuff with your car is ok, carry on with it and one day when you least expect it life will change and you'll be great with it, you're not a waster and a loser and you'll be the dad your'es wasn't because of it. Don't change a thing fella.

Missed this too first time around, really cute little boy and it's truly amazing how we cope when we have to and there is no better reward and privilege than to see your child grow up....

and talking of which, think we need an update :poke:

Wow, just come across this, massive respect to you. You will be able to look back when he's older and know that you did your best, not something a lot of people can do. Being a parent is the hardest thing I have ever had to get used to, I found it tough when my daughter was born and I had my wife doing most things. My daughter is my world and all the hard work is worth it. Your relationship and the bond with your son will grow. When he becomes a father himself, he will look back on his childhood and realise what a brilliant dad you were to him. A lot of parents demand respect but respect is earn't. Strip back the cars, holidays, houses and possessions etc and family is all you've got.
