My M has been SORNed since April 1, so was a little surprised to get a letter asking if it was still SORNed (I never get those letters for the Golf though). The thing about that letter is that the first line is the question, the rest of the letter is all the punishments you get if you use the car without tax.

Always love the assumption of guilt in those type of letters.

I've got a few classics on SORN but in March I became the registered keep of my lads MK2 MR2 - and declared it SORN as it needs some work to the throttle body and control which I'm not in a rush to do and then its MOT - due in a few weeks. I got what I assume to be the same letter as you on Friday.

Are they going after sports cars? - bit late in the summer for that though or is the test due on your M?

My number plates are only one digit different from each other, so I guess they could read it wrong

Gets me that the Bank used to send me and the Mrs separate statements on the joint account, to the same house address. So in these modern digital times they now send us an e-mail statement each. Both to the same e-mail address. :roll:

I got one of those letters on Saturday for my SORN'd Motorhome but not had one for my other faster SORN'd cars...

I got the same letter for my Audi R8 that I SORN'd after lockdown in March, but nothing on my previously SORN'd Cayenne or Z4. Also, as I'm in the age bracket that's been in self isolation for most of the time but have kept my M6 fully taxed and insured, you'd think that they would get the fact that I only need one car to be 'available' just now! [I've only driven a total of 70 miles in the last 5 months, so not much just now.]
