This week I have mostly been ... detailing my Z4M

My poor M Roadster has been desperate for some serious TLC since I bought it in October. So, Easter Holidays seemed the perfect opportunity to give it some love.

Washed with Johnsons, rinsed off and dried with water magnet towel. If you've not tried it it's not as daft as it sounds. Foams enough to remove grime, but doesn't remove wax. Smells nice too. lol

I then clayed the car using megs clay kit. Despite washing thoroughly, the paint felt really gritty to the touch and one pass on the door fetched off this:

The paint now felt beautiful, but I used this to check it was completely clean:
I then used Tomes5zdYdyOCHKRJ0W7Wcm-iJEeCTkEuvVHLtKtFt-gOIRzRk.jpg

I'm really glad I bothered with this, as I was still fetching off quite alot of crap that even the clay didn't shift.

Once this was completed I used a DA polisher with a megs glaze. I've never machine polished before, but my mate lent me the kit and it was pretty straight forward. It was a fairly mild product (didn't want to over do it for my first time), but this has still drastically removed swirl marks. I'd say at least 75% of the swirls have been removed, very pleasing results and much better than what I've achieved by hand polishing before.

I gave it a quick wipe with megs liquid wax at this point as I needed the car today to attend a wedding. Here are some pics.

Tomorrow I'm going to give it one or two coats of wax that I've just bought. Dodo Super Natural. I've used dodo before on the TT, with good results, and this stuff is meant to be the best of the batch.

I intend to up date the thread over the resr of the week.

Still to do:

Use renova roof restorer to give some life back to the roof.
Use scuff repair kit on the slight marks on seats, then clean and condition.
Fetch off bumper and fit new washer jet.
Touch up small mark on rear bumper
Shampoo carpets and clean interior
Fit new wheels (if they arrive by the end of the week)

2 caps

Been using it for a few years and was recommended by a detailer.

Used to use megs gold class and you'd struggle to tell the difference.

i washed mine today, i really don't have the patience for anything more - urghhhhhhhhhh

Good work. Interesting tip with the baby bath washmix. I dread to think of your use for talcum powder

First time for me in 6 months mate. I'm not generally a big fan of cleaning (especially in the winter), rather be driving, but it needed to be done.
