Hello all,

I've been on the forum a while having owned a z4 3.0 maybe 8 years ago.

I've recently changed my approach to getting my car related fix. Having owned a new white Cayman GTS for a year (which was a fantastic car) I got a little tired of seeing £1k leaving my bank account every month to effectively pay off depreciation (of course I knowingly entered into this)

So I decided I was going to use the money I was paying out for the porker and buy a few cars which might stand a chance of appreciating, or at the very least not lose a great deal - hence the thread title!

So first car to the garage is this beauty

https://flic.kr/p/KFoTpT

I paid well over the odds for it but it is immaculate. It's only done 40k miles, has CSL's spacers/ uprated hifi (yes the totally s**t one) black grilles. Basically looks like bruce wayne's car.

It also has the stock exhaust with gutted internals. It's very anti-social!

Potentially looking to get CSL airbox or throttle venturis, or potentially swap to full supersprint with decat

Anyways great to be back! Thanks for looking!

Both fantastic looking motors , glad you saw sense & stopped the financial rot by putting your funds in the MC
I see you spotted the upgraded hi-fi isn't  Logic7 DSP whatever you want to call it  it is pretty poor  although play around with the settings & it can sound OK

Well done for allowing the head to rule over the heart. I don't think it will make you a millionaire, but it's certainly a step in the right direction.
You just need a low mileage Alpina Roadster to sit along side it now

Very nice! Welcome back.

I bought my ///M Roadster over 2 years' ago. Put about 17k miles on the clock and apart from oil and Inspection 2 service and tyres it's cost me nothing and certainly hasn't depreciated.

Enjoy :driving:

Thanks for the welcomes!

The head v heart decision hasn't been that hard given how fantastic the z4 is compared to the GTS.

Performance wise not that much in it. The only difference is the handling - the Cayman was so adjustable - oversteer when you wanted it, but unbelievable grip when you want that too. the z4 isn't adjustable in the same way but has a character all of its own

The Porsche used to gets loads of people pointing at it - the z4 gets petrol heads giving a knowing nod which I love!

very happy

Nice to read.

Interesting comparison, looking at all the pics of your Cayman and thinking what a beautiful looking car. Think you need to post up some more of the Z4MC, which looks equally stunning
