Hi, I have and am still a member of the TT owners Club, the Triumph Stag club, the Lexus club, Jeep owners club and Fiat X1/9 club.
I have found that some members on this Forum are quite cold in their attitude. Seems they dont like to reply for the help sought and a bit sarcastic and cheeky. Also picking and choosing whom they sell their goods to. I have requested items for sale and never hear back then only to see that a few weeks later sold to someone else. I dont mind, but at least answer request for info or help without the sarcasm, help, if not dont but dont make a song and dance about it..
I can rebuilt a Triumph Stag in my sleep or even blindfolded. I have helped hundreds to their problems and even travelled over 60 miles to help fix a Stag for a member free!!
The whole point of a owners club includes helping others keep their cars healthy. Having said that many of the members on here are exempalary, WELL DONE!!! :happyclap:
Sorry if I spoke out of turn for a newbee. A thousand apologies, but if you do mind then may the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits.
Rgds

Why not pull up the ones you feel aggrieved at? Ideally on the threads you feel most aggrieved :?
No point fannying around

Bloody newbies speaking out of turn..what ever next :poke:

I am in a few clubs/forums and can honestly say this is by far the best one I have been a member of. It's an open forum and people will answer in different way.
You will always get posts that receive very few feed backs , others will get loads. It all depends on the content I suppose.
It helps to have a thick skin on forums, oh and I was joking about newbies
Stag engines eh, I used to own one back in the 80's and loved it, still own a GT6 though

Didn’t those stag engines overheat before the electronic water pump was invented? Groundbreaking stuff :P

Nah, those Stag engines were bullet proof Rob :P

Much like every internet forum there's know-it-all pricks but a vast majority of helpful, decent people.

Then there's the sarcastic knobs...

Then the Camels will leave you alone...

There’s always the odd twat, but generally this is a nicer place than most.

On the purchases did you make your interest know on the thread or pm. If it was the latter then that could be a reason you were passed over.

What’s the difference between an owners club and a forum???
Owners clubs generally have club officials, AGMs and charge for membership. Forums generally have mods, meets and are free. Many owners clubs have forums. I was a FCCUK forum member I still am technically. I never joined the club though.

Many less frequented forums turn into owners clubs and charge a fee, simply to pay for the overheads. We are very fortunate the Boss and mods here are able to provide such a valuable asset for us to use for free.

I’ve been a member of this forum for nearly 12 years and have always found it a helpful, friendly place and genuinely think it is one of the reasons my Z is a keeper!

Been a member for many years even though I no longer own a zed - best car forum by far which is why I stay :D

Yes a few wallies , a fair bit of sarcasm and a lot of banter but always entertaining and there's always someone to help with problems - although I didn't get many problems when I had my E85 - mind you in 8 years of ownership I only took it out of the garage twice

Perhaps people think you’re in Singapore and think its not viable to send stuff to you ✈️

Sorry you feel you’ve not been welcomed into the bosom of this family..

I’ve been doing Internet forums of various types since the early 1990s..they are all prone to the same dynamics, both good n bad...the actors change but the story remains largely the same...

It’s upsetting / frustrating sometimes but people can help themselves...

A good example is the lack of location identifier and a nom de plume that tends to make people assume things...

Another is where people post short requests without any contextual info so people either assume it’s for someone else / they are a bit of a plonker / it’s TFD to respond..

Once people have posted a few times others get the measure and tend to be more helpful..

I've always found this a very friendly forum - well until baconJazz stopped liking me because I finally bought an M last week!

I've also bought and sold some bits and pieces (including a car) and never had any issues - maybe the OP was just unlucky. :?

Take your past experiences as a pinch of salt Singapore Stag

As srhutch mentioned, you have to a) clearly state your offer in the thread b) whoever replies 1st gets 1st dibs if offer full ask c) if not full price offered, seller can choose highest offer d) seller normally confirms on the thread
