This forum is the friendliest.....

I don't think all BMW forums are quite like this one. I should really be on z4-post more often since that's where I'd find local deals (buy & sell) and most of the lounge topics there would relate to me better. But I didn't find it quite as friendly, and have been fed some misinformation prior to picking up the Z4 in regards to the SMG transmission. I was previously a moderator on a huge BMW forum that many of you have probably heard of, and while it was friendly there was also a lot of immaturity and fighting among the members, some of those fights/arguments translated into face-to-face arguments too.

Another   for Z4F... I've been on 2x Seat Forums, an Engine forum and VX220.org and even though i've met friends for life off those, i still prefer this one for the information and general browsing. Amazingly this is also the least snobbish with the most liberal Admins. :D

I also love the fact that it is truly multi-national :D

The only thing that slightly gets me is the very rare M owner that thinks every single comment about their car should be in the "M Specific" forum, rather than the general one, even though 80% of the car is generic.
 add that one to the Newbie notes! very true.

I have to agree on this :fuelfire:

I think we need a dedicated M lounge.

Bit like a First Class airline lounge, away from the riffraff :poke: :fuelfire:

this thread is getting on my chuffin nerves now, your all starting to sound like a right bunch of sad geeks, i wish you all just shut the fu*k up

You fit right in then Taz ... 8)

NO pics....well I haven't taken any yet, it's just a square box with wheels. maybe this weekend ... and it's an LR2, the only one without all the bullsh*t air suspension problems. Sure glad I didn't buy the Merc GLK I was going to buy, some of the comments on here re Merc owners make me scared to get one

As for off-roading ..... there isn't a 4x4 built that could beat my old Landcruiser FJ45 so this is just a "get through the winter" rig. Nothing special and the other half really likes it. Gotta keep her happy

Oh, I saw a Z1 on the weekend, the local vintage sports car club had a show and there was a lady driving one around there. (the only Z1 I've seen other than at the LA ZFest )

:ilz4f:

It's definitely the best forum i've been a part of. You're a fantastic bunch.

your right this is a good friendly place and there are many (probably everybody actually) who :fuelfire: is very helpful. the complete opposite on the TT Forum ive found. probably right what they say about bmw drivers actually driving audi's now.

Funny you say that, I had the pleasure of listening in on a TT owners conversation about Tyres, Nurburg, His TT, Felt like saying everything you think is good about your car, My Z4 is better :fuelfire:

I agree that this forum is the friendliest.
After selling my z4 I joined a forum for Audi R8 owners. The problem is that the tone there is completely different. Not very friendly and quite rude to new posters I would say.
So perhaps the comment about Audi owners is correct, although I hope some of us are exceptions. :driving:

So I keep returning to this forum even though I am no longer an owner. Maybe I should return to the BMW brand?! :D

Maybe you should. :D

As for my part i also really enjoy the friendly atmosphere and the usually extremely quick replies to questions.

I'm afraid that i am exactly what EdButler describes though.... I mostly post my questions in the M section... Not because i think that non-M owners wont be able to answer or anything.. i just feel that threads about Ms should be in the M section... I dont know. I hope i'm not making myself look like a pompous ass.

No different to e89 questions in the e89 section, don't see why it would be a problem, perhaps i need to read back through this thread or somewhere else but in contrast, i rarely read the m related threads because much of the stuff won't be relevant for my car, not because i'm sniffy about it :).
There's something in the forum for everyone and different sections suit different people. Some topics just aren't me so i don't read them and probably miss some great banter, some threads people probably wish i would keep my nose out of
The fact that it is such a well supported forum is what makes it great. It has helped me a lot in various ways and i really enjoy being part of it.
I sometimes have to remember that writing isn't like speaking and afterwards i think some of my responses sound a little curt or offish  When i'm working i often have a bit of a humour bypass so apologies to anyone who may have thought i was being offish with a response, i really wouldn't have meant to be :)

I think your all tossers, I just joined to get info. wouldn't want to socalise with any of you though...

Opps sorry thought I was on the landy forum..
