This country needs an enema

Couldn't agree more with the thread title, and for many reasons.

Being completely assumptious and jumping to conclusions I wonder if the second car was being so nosy and taking in the aftermath that they ended up becoming part of the accident.

PS, judging by that story, if you live in the North East give Vauxhall Corsa's a wide berth!

Burdon Lane is a lovely road that I used to have as part of my commute each day, unfortunately, it's not the safest road in the city. I've seen more than a few cars on their roofs in the field.

It's a two way road, NSL applies, unlit, no road markings, blind bends, and it sounds as though this accident happened as it was getting dark. It's also, believe it or not, a major route to get from Doxford (one of the major employment hubs) to Ryhope (a large residential area of the city) and the A19 South. Needless to say it's a busy road.

On the balance of probabilities I'd expect that the 1st car had pulled over following the bump, they were exchanging details and the other car hasn't seen them because of oncoming headlights and ran straight into them.

Unfortunately it's so narrow that if you have an oncoming car with badly adjusted headlights it can be really dodgy.
 
Oh and also, forgot to add. I wouldn't shed a tear if the scum in the van are the road's next victims...
 
Anybody in the market for a bike I recently acquired?

It makes me chuckle, the cheek of it, but agree, it is scum.

I found this out a few years back.

My wife was out alone and had a seizure on a busy street. Whilst helpful passers by were phoning 999 and trying to figure out what was happening to a woman who was obviously very ill and in need of medical treatment, some scroat rifled her hand bag that was on the floor, nicked her purse, emptied it of the money and cards and dumped it in a waste bin 20 yards down the road. :evil:
 
Is this bad journalism or am I seeing something that nobody else sees in this story. The article says "Two men in a Transit van claiming to know and live near Mr Coates pulled up and took the bicycle after the first collision, Northumbria Police said.

So Mr Coates was still alive and of sound enough body and mind to be swapping details at this time when along comes grey van man, clearly has a discussion with Mr Coates and the driver of the first car. Convinces Mr Coates he lives near him and Mr Coates gives him the bike. Shortly afterwards, some tit comes blasting along and kills Mr Coates.

Stealing the bike is still a horrible opportunist thing to do but they didn't steal a bike from a dying man.
