This can't be right?

Morning,

I saw this one eBay,

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z4-3-0-35i-M-Sport-DCT-sDrive-2dr/154290525094?hash=item23ec6e93a6:g:vKQAAOSwNFpf~tWQ

Too good to be true? Price can't be right for that model and spec?? I tried to do a MOT history check but it doesn't recognise the reg number, can't find anything about the garage either......

If something sounds to good to be true...

100% what I'm thinking

Looking at the Ebay feedback, it is all as a buyer. Nothing to say they've sold anything. Which seems odd if it is a garage?

Saw it last night and was immediately expecting one of those scam posts where the second image is a typed page with a random email address then I noticed it was a garage selling

All I could then think of was they’ve missed a 1 off of the front of the price. Even then it’s still cheap if it’s a genuine car.

That was absolutely what I thought, they missed the 1 off either the price or mileage! It's funny they don't mention the mileage, being so low, you would think it would be one of the first things they say about the car....

lowest price 35i on ebay by £2k, but is apparently the newest on a 65 plate, and only 23,000 miles?

if it is a genuine sale, my guess is the price should be £19k, not £9k...

is it too new to have been MOT'd yet?

Should have had a couple of MOTs by now.
Being a bit bored I just took a google map stroll up Atkinson Way in Scunthorpe and nothing remotely like a car sales place there that I can see. Could be a recent move though?
But as previously stated, no record of the reg. Even if it had a previous private plate, they state they have the V5 so it should be on the system with its new number?
All a bit dubious.

Hadn’t thought about it being missed off the mileage. I tried to check the MOT too but it didn’t come up, just thought it might be because it’s come off a private plate.

Just had another look there, seller got quite a few nicer cars all at cheap money, but............ not one of the vehicles photographed in the same/similar location

Bit surprising though that someone who has a team to deal with paperwork and a team in the workshop won’t take trade ins or doesn’t offer finance,

it’s a no from me

I saw that yesterday and I will guarantee that this is a fraudulent advert, you contact them and they will not reply correctly or will want a deposit to view.

They will be in Scotland and want you to pay a courier to ship the car.

Seen it all before on Ebay

Yes. Their "client" will be leaving or have left the country, and the car is in "storage". If it isn't Scotland, it will be Berwick upon Tweed!

Well just contact them and say you will turn up with cash to collect. They seem to have a lot of high end cars cheap. Perhaps crash repaired, as address is a industrial estate.

I had something similar with a T5 12 months ago, as you say looked to good to be true but thought let's see what happens.

The car was in London, the guy lived in Scotland and he wanted me to use shipply to transport the car.

He said, pay the money to them they will hold it until the car is delivered and you are happy, you sign to release the money.

I told him now I wanted to look at the car before I paid and suddenly he disappeared, do a search and it will tell you that the link he sends will not be shipply and your money will disappear just as quickly as him.

Even if you report this Ebay will do nothing same as the adverts with one image and the contact details, I had seen a Z4 on A/T sella 12k (Valenia orange) and the same one appear on Ebay a few weeks later at £8k - reported it as fraudulent and still there 3 weeks later.

The location looks similar in a few of the pics of other cars for sale and in one pic of the Discovery you can see quite a few cars in the background. You can see the Evoque in the background through the window of the Discovery.
They all seem far too cheap though so definately dodgy.

Dormant account take over fraud - ebay will get round to removing the listing but it usually takes a while.
Use the "report this item" option towards the bottom of the listing to speed up the above process.
