Third Brake Light

I noticed that the Third Brake Light on my 2004 Z4 has taken its function literally ... it broke.
Since a number of you fellow owners have replaced your red cyclops light with white, do you have a red light to sell?
My Z4 is red, so red is the only way to go.

Welcome to the Forum :)

Mine went the same way recently, replaced it with clear (on Sterling Grey), looks great. Agree that red would be best on a red car though...

Well known porblem. Stealership should replace if underarranty. They did for me.

My dealership and BMW UK denied all knowledge of said problem, despite having the TIS bulletin in my hand

I was out of warranty anyways :tumbleweed:

Mine still works but it's cracked (clear tail light)......will they replace it under warranty since I'm still under the factory warranty?

Dont see why not... Factory warranty should cover all parts of the car shouldn't it?

Mine was still working just cracked is two places :(

Mine is cracked, not in the place like it shows in that TIS - but across the middle. Is that the same issue?

Definitely push the dealer to replace uder warranty.

Mine cracked exactly as shown in the bulletin, however at the time I wasn't aware if it so went and bought a replacement light with the intention of doing it myself. After hearing about the bulletin I copied it and went back to the dealer, whose Service Manager had never seen it before, but was happy to sort it there and then. I guess if you asked for a different colour it shouldn't make any difference to them.

Good Luck!

It says all vehicles to Oct 2003? If mine was made after that, will that still count? Shouldn't this fix have been done anyway?

shouldve I wouldve thought, but mines a March 2004, still did it. Ordered the new springs to use when fitting the new light and they didnt feel as strong as those I took off :tumbleweed:

Mine's a 2005 and there was no problem.

Got them to replace all my alloys (108's I think, Turbine style?) under warranty at the same time!
