Third brake light broken

I have broken my third brake light on the boot. How easy is it to change and where is the best place to buy it for the right money?
Must be BM genuine part. Help would be appreciated.

you can get the 3rd replacement clear light for bout £53 (with 10% forum discount) from Sopers so might be worth giving them a call :thumbsup:

Yep......where I got mine :thumbsup:

Easy to change, about 10 mins in all. IIRC a deep socket is helpful, can't recall if an 8 or 10mm though.

Sorry does Sopers have more than one dealership, if so which one ? Is the clear brake light legal?

It's a simple job as long as one of the bolts hasn't come away for the plastic inside.... making it an absolute PITA

got mine from sopers in Lincoln last week, arrived the same day when I ordered it and 10% discount for forum

yup, think all there are fairly up to speed with the forum discount. The original guy I believe has moved on.

The damage is cosmetic a small piece has broke of the edge of the fitting they seem quite fragile.But its bugging the life out of me so its gotta be replaced.

Usually they go in the middle from the boot being slammed shut; when you get yours out you'll see that the way the moulding is made it's almost designed to fail, especially if the bolts are done up too tight.

If it's a clear light and the damage isn't too bad, I would be interested in buying the damaged one from you?
 
Make sure you get the updated springs as they are not so strong as the old ones which causes the prob in the first place. Also, if you take out the vent looking pieces of trim (you will see them, they are directly behind the light on the inner boot lid trim) this will make it much easier for you. :thumbsup:

Hiya - ok I replaced mine recently and I have no idea about car repairs NOT A CLUE !
It took me about 35 mins even got dirty hands and a brew outside from Mrs Badger you will need a long reach socket
(OMG) I actually sound like I know what I'm talking about !!!!!!!!!!

I got my new lamp from the stealers it was about £80 but fit perfect - if I can do it anyone can !

Go for it - :D
