Thinking of selling

After 5 years the lack of rear seats is starting to get on my tits a bit. I'm growing weary of having to put one hand on the dog to stop him flying off the passenger seat whenever I corner at any speed above a crawl. Been thinking of a 2004-2006 (cheap tax) 3.0 petrol X5 or a Jaguar X Type.

Was wondering what I would ask for my Zed if I decided to part with it.

It's a 2003 3.0i auto in sterling grey on 73k miles. 108s refurbed just a few months ago and 4 new Avon tyres couple of months ago. In addition to the standard auto lights/rain sensing wipers/auto dimming mirrors and cruise, it also has a few nice extras on...

Hardtop
Intravee
Nav
Digital TV
Xenons
Folding mirrors
Cup holders
PDC
MFSW (M)
Bluetooth phone
wind deflector in boot (where it belongs)

I thought the car itself is worth £4.5k, Then if I split the bits I could get hardtop £650, the digital TV receiver £250, the Intravee/Alpine £70, cup holders £30

But is the car likely to sell for £5.5k all together? So I had a look on Autotrader and there are over thirty 3.0i Zeds under £6k !!

I think I'll be lucky to sell at all with the market this flooded!! Ah well one hand on the dog it is then.

I believe I may have just talked myself out of selling. :headbang:

You can buy a harness for the doggie that fastens to the seat belt.

He's a lercher. Only his arse fits on the seat anyway. He has to put his front legs in the footwell.

In comparison I paid £4.5k for mine last March, new P 0s, new battery, new service, new roof motor and they paid me for another one after I had it re-located, new front left wishbone.
I"ve since added new AXE rims @£380. New FK springs @£52, Was 82k when bought now 91k, I think it"s borderline now at £4.5k unless the markets spirals upwards. Buy a 4 seater and keep the Zed that"s my plan next :driving: :driving:

2 ways of taking the sale , either forum or AT PH + Ebay
Off the forum with decent pics & well worded advert i would be starting at £5150 without the trinkets  its a well specced carwith lowish miles & imo the auto is just as likely to be wanted as a manual
On the forum the more clued up would appreciate the value of the trinkets so if you wanted to include them id kick off around £6k
Jmo but i think you are undervaluing the hardtop & the intravee :? £750 & £150 being more in tune to what they would sell for
Whatever i certainly wouldn't leave the trinkets on if you advertise elsewhere as many potential buyers will see the car as possibly overpriced & may not fully appreciate their worth
Purely my own thoughts & happy to remove if you like

Thanks for the replies guys very useful. If I decide to sell I will deffo offer to Forum first as mr wilks says others will not appreciate the good spec combination and how well I've looked after it (all new Bosch coil packs when one failed, all discs pads ancillaries replaced 18 mths ago, expansion tank changed just in case etc. etc.) Will post plenty of pics IF I decide to sell.
