thinking of selling

There is an article on buying a used GTR in Evo this month.

Whilst they are undoubtedly expensive to run (brakes and tyres the main costs) there are lots of very good indies to get the car serviced.

I quite like the way they look to be honest. The car is supposed to be a big two fingers to the establishment.

im doing alot of research on the gtr sites before i go ahead with any purchase to make sure i know what im getting myself into.

I think the GTR is great the performance is just crazy especially when you consider the size of the car.
I agree it beggars belief, it has won every group test I've ever read & has won a few car of the year tests in some mags, I think they are amazing, why did we spend 40k on a crappy Audi TT when we could have bought a proper performance car! :headbang:

I need to own a GTR one day...I wonder how hard it would be to fit a manual gearbox! :driving:

ive "heared" from another z4///m owner who wanted to dabble in one that one thing that put him off was that a part of the nose is carbon fibre, and if anything were to happen like a slight bump it can run into the 1000's...
dont like the looks but would never say no to riding shotgun and experiencing launch control..

id do time for a 360

You'd be able to, it would be in the shop for repairs while you did the time

My ex bosses advice was join a super car club, ring it's neck and give it back and it will be cheaper than trying to run your own. A Ferrari was always a bucket list car for me until he put me off

Remember that GTR that got turned into a golf ball by massive hailstones ? I am sure I emember reading the thread on the GTR forum and there are parts of the body work that are actually bonded to the subframe, I think it was the rear wings and bumper... Which apparently makes it really expensive to fix if you damage any of those parts.

That's irrelevant though, if you can afford to run it - I think it is awesome. There are quite a few very lucky chavs running about the City of London early in the morning on the way to their banking jobs... The noise as they drive between tall close together buildings is fantastic 8)

ive seen about 10 gtrs on the road
and EVERY single one of them without exception has been blasting down the mortorway in outside land at over 100mph
has anyone actually passed one just tootling along?

Yeah, they have to slow down through the City - traffic, traffic lights... They're road sharks :driving:

hate to say it, and i usually love toms pics (even though these arent his)(i want a photoshoot of my car) but im not liking it

i think the gtr looks great in blue....but other than that im not taken.

Ye there not mine.

Not a type of car that interests me in the slightest. Just thought I would add them as I saw them on flickr the other day.

GTR >>>>>>>>>>> Z4M. I wouldn't have to even think twice if I had the money behind me. Thank you Nissan for producing such an insane machine.

I'm surprised people who like the Z4M like the GTR so much.
I like the M because it's raw and basic compared to the average car today, the GTR strikes me as relying far too much on technology, therefore lacking driver involvement. Certainly not where I'd be spending that kind of money, especially with it's crazy running costs.

When you get to that level of performance though it's gets impossible to avoid driver aids/computers. People all lust after a Ferrari 458 Italia but that is full of electronic this and that and computer optimised this and that. You cannot otherwise harness the BHP and get the performance figures achieved.

The GTR has supercar performance remember. We are talking close to 458 Italia, Mclaren 12c,997 GT2, and equal to 997 Turbo/Turbo S. nearly all of these are littered with electronic gizmos.

Pound for pound, there's nothing to match the GT-R & Z06 in their own home markets.

Bring them over to the UK and still they punch way above their weight considering the £20k+ markup on the price.

In my opinion, being able to embarrass a car that's twice, three, maybe even four times as expensive is.....priceless. :)

We all love an Underdog... right? :)

I've been lucky enough to have had a fast lap round the ring in a very well driven GT-R. B*gger was it fast,we overtook EVERYTHING, including a very reluctant Fezza 360.it is a simply stunning car.Would I if I could afford it, oh yes........ :D
