Thinking of selling

I am thinking of parting ways with the zed, I have some issues with my knee and need an auto, I have been offered £8.5k from we want any car, is this a reasonable offer.

Car is a 2011 23i Highline M Sport in white, 83k miles, 5 months MOT, 8 stamps and in really decent condition, just needs 3 wheels done.

Don't do it Sean! :(
Why not stick it up on the 'Bay for £9.5k and see what happens? Cost you £60 ish and you can always go down the other route if you get no bites. Try Motorway too, they are generally better offers!

Had motorway guy come here and he f'd me off big time, he started picking up on stuff that was nonsense and was included on the description and the tried to knock a grand off - he got told to depart sharpish.

The passenger door handle was split, told me it was £100, cost me £30 and its press fit, then said the car was scratched to hell and wanted to spray half the car, good clean this morning and got the mop on it and looks better than when I bought it, in fact I was thinking should I keep it or not but then walking is painful as my left left knee is playing up so driving it in traffic is painful.

I could stick it on Facebook and eBay as it also has 8 or 9 months transferable warranty, its just the tyre kickers and people messing about which does my head in, may stick it on there and see what happens.

Just don't put in on auction the the 'bay, that's where the headaches start IME. Put a classified ad on and gauge the responses you get via messages. You will get the "what's your lowest price, I can pick it up today" twats. Just ignore them or tell to sod off, they never come back TBH.
There are genuine buyers on the bay, the hard part is separating them from the chaff.

Only sold one car through Facebook marketplace. Got it sold but they got the details wrong so got several people thinking it was something it wasn't. Wouldn't use that way again TBH.

I would only ever use a classified ad - may give it a go, I could do the wheels but better off leaving those so that new owner can do in a colour they want.

I would not sell it if I could sort my knee - it always starts, has cost me £39 for wipers in the last three MOTs, its the longest I have ever kept a car at 30 months and would keep it if could

Why not put it on here? You are a well-known member aka an 'enthusiast'. Goes a long way for many people when looking to buy.

Not certain I want to even sell it at the moment - it has done less than 2k miles since the last MOT and has done 9k miles since I bought it, I really like the car, white IMHO is the best colour on an e89 (other than orange), its good on fuel averaging 33mpg since I bought it, cheap to insure, just not certain where to go from there.

What about sell it and buy (or ask to p-ex) for a 2 litre E89 auto?

On my list for certain, I could p/ex but again to much hassle dealing with stealers, offer dumb money for yours and want top whack for what they are flogging

There may be someone on here with an auto 2.0 similar miles wanting a straight swap to a manual straight 6!

Don’t ask don’t get!
That's what I was referring to. A part ex with someone who has an auto and wants a proper gearbox! :poke:

Classified ad on ebay is £20. Got my E86 on there at the moment, had a few nibbles so far after being listed for just over a week.

Sell it Sean, the only person that uses his wife’s Zed less than you do yours is Pondy
I drove it 250 miles at the weekend, actually. I quite like it, believe it or not! :D

Is that the car you are now going to buy Pondy? I understand the dodgy history though with a DIY plug change and your wife having no history with it

I agree it does get used sparingly but I actually really like the dam thing and its the longest I have ever had a car - decent spec / good mpg / no real issues in 2.5 years of ownership, cleaned it yesterday and its sat outside looking pretty good even if I say so myself

Think if it goes then an M4 may be looming - ease the issue with my knee as they are auto and can get the little ones in the back.

They did offer the F82/3 M4 as a manual, but not many around. That is irrelevant to your situation, obviously. :D

They are pretty rare as a manual, don't think I have seen one advertised in the UK - if I could drive a manual without issue the zed would be staying, one of the best looking 2 seaters out there IMHO for the cash
