Well, what a massive disappointment.
I called the guy mid-week, he tells me how nice the car was, how well it drives and "I won't be disappointed". So I rock up, and find the car is an absolute mess. It has obviously been up for sale for some time, it was advertised at £7495 (the sticker was still in the window), and was dirty and just looked awful.
On closer inspection the passenger door had two scratches that had started to rust, the front bumper was hanging off in one corner, the relfector on the other side was missing and all four wheels were really badly scuffed. Not much better inside, the trim was all scratched and the car stank.
The engine was filthy, had a leak from the rocker cover and the strut bar thing that goes from the bulkhead to the suspension mounts was snapped on one side and had been re welded and (badly) painted.
I genuinely almost chinned the guy, I know it's not a "long" way, but a day off of work and 150 mile round trip when clearly the guy had lied about the condition. I told him it wasn't even worth half of what he was asking. Bad news.
