Thinking of coming back for all the wrong reasons....?

I kind of am, I looked at what I could get for the money offered and a <>£1k this way or that gets something a little bit newer if I was inclined to do so.

Horrid thing to have happen ... not sure my other half would want to stay in the same house ....as for crime rates...we are lucking in the far southwest ...things are not too bad here ...yet !
Definitely go for another zed but like others said , keep it tucked away from scumbags view

Here's an update.

So had the insurance assessment it wasn't too bad. It was 3K down on what was paid for the car 2 years ago (and 11k miles) so I don't feel too hard done by.

On the securing the house front....

Alarm being installed next week (3 x cameras and 24hr monitoring)
Ground floor Internal door locks installed
Security post being installed next week
additional lights being installed for the side of the house.

So replacing the car. I've had a long chat with someone who's opinion I value on things Automotive and he has been very vocal on not going back to BMW.

I always wanted a Cayman GTS 4.0 (PDK) since it was announced and am popping round to Porsche tomorrow.

I'm keener on the Silver

I've been fighting the Porsche itch for a while and as much as I'd love a 992 Carrera 4S I just can't reach it.
Manual 981 GT4?

Or go for a 991 911,theres bugger all difference apart from more gizmos in the 992?

18 month wait on new pork according to dealers this week...!

I hope they’re more welcoming than they were on my recent visit to Porsche Glasgow, because I wasn’t a previous Porsche customer I was made to feel like my queries were an inconvenience

Was looking to order the same as you but Boxster, waiting time then from order in August 21 was delivery Easter 23.

Didn’t fit in the bloody thing so it didn’t matter anyway

What!!! Hmmm, to be honest I might have to go to plan B.

The Toy has suddenly become an item of mutual property and this has effected colour choice. So much so I'm tempted to just put idea back in the box and just go like for like.

As its just less painful

Salesperson?

My Experience with Glasgow OPC could not have been more different. Also a first time Porsche buyer, welcomed from day one and was in and out half a dozen times for chats. Warmly welcomed each time, originally looking to spec a car from Configurator to a budget. Ended up getting a new unregistered car they had just brought in that was £4k over budget which I got bang on budget.
No hassle when they knew I was looking elsewhere, in fact I showed them the WhatsApp conversation I was having with Porsche Wilmslow about a nearly new car and that's how I got the £4k reduction. Aftersales was brilliant too.

Think I mentioned before I couldn’t remember who it was but don’t think he was taking my enquiry seriously tbh. We drive up in Kathleen’s Golf and I got the feeling that they had already made their mind up that we were time wasters and weren’t looking to/able to purchase even though I told him quite clearly we were looking to order new and buy outright.

Asked them several questions and they “were going to get back to me” not heard a word since. I’m not going to twist anyones arm to relieve me of over £80k

We all have our different experiences of any purchasing experience but for me Porsche Glasgow wasn’t a positive one whereas my brother changes his there every two years, and services his there too, thinks they’re great  . Maybe I should’ve got him to make an introduction phone call  not that I think I should’ve needed one IMHO

Harry Fairburn we’re sh!te about the M40i too but Eastern we’re falling over themselves to be helpful and get my custom. I’m sure other preople may have experienced a different service from Eastern too

I deliberately turned up in jeans and a scuba T shirt Andy, in my then GT86 to see how we were treated. Made it clear from the outset I was buying a car, just a case of who got my business.

Edinburgh were also very good, was a weekday and quiet and sat with the sales guy chatting for a couple of hours over coffees. Let me have a good rummage around their used stock and offered a test drive and also said if I arranged to come back with Lynn he would give us a 718 for the day.

I've walked out of a few dealerships over the years as I felt service/attitude was lacking. Ex wife kicked a salesman"s shins under the table many years ago when he dismissively flicked my current cars keys across the desk to us saying he could not meet our valuation. His cry of pain brought the manager over, explanation given and salesman told to take a break. 5 minutes later valuation met and deal done with manager.

Wow, that's some wait! :o

I think I'd be buying something to tide me over.

Had no such troubles at Porsche today, all very cordial, deposit paid and looking at hopefully Q2 / Q3 2022.

Glad it went well for you and hopefully the delivery date stays on target

Have you got your silverstone experience day booked yet? Loved that when I bought my Porsche.

Agreed, it is tremendous, especially the kick plate. I drove down from Central Scotland and spent the night in a hotel close by, then drove home the next day afterwards. Long day but definitely worth it.

I went for this.....

http://www.porsche-code.com/PNIJN6B8

Dolomite Silver and pretty much the minimum options I could go for.

So PDK, PDLS, Bose, Electric seats, dual zone Climate and um that's pretty much it

That's going to blow your mind ..... Wasn't tempted by a second hand gt4 ???

To be honest, I've always wanted "my" one. Even wanted to do the factory tour and pick it up from Stuttgart, do the Museum tour, the works.

Plus, it's been a bit of a dream since my first drive of a 993 in the mid 90's (all my Uncles fault).

So not really keen on a pre owned model.
