Thinking of Buying - Z4 Coupe

Hi,

Currently drive an E39 530i auto but been looking for something new for a while and the Z4 coupe has caught my eye, just cant resist the sound of a straight 6! :D

Been looking for a sport model with the spec that I want and have found the following 2 example, with one obviously being much cheaper than the other, but it is private v trader so explains some of it. Was just wondering if anyone could see or knows any reason why buying the private one would be a bad idea, or does it look like a sound car to the trained eye?

Thanks,

Welcome Neil!

I'd personally go for the second one based on the spec alone. (No nav, but has the factory fitted HID kit)

Reasoning being that the nav is now somewhat dated (especially the interface)

NeilP's advice is spot on. I researched a lot before purchasing and made sure to have avoid nav and get the Xenons. I personally also looked for premium and sport packages and was hoping to find extended leather but no dice on that.

Welcome and - great choice!

OEM Nav is dated but Xenons are a must have.

Worth asking for the chassis numbers then you can check the as-built specs here. http://www.rubmw.ru/vincode/eng/

I would suggest you really need to try a couple before you decide especially if buying privately. They do drive differently and we rejected a few before the one I now own. I've had no problems in two years so it was worth the wait for it.

The nav is very dated and is quite disappointing, wouldn't be a buying point for me at all. I like the second one, great condition in the pics but always have a good poke around.

Don't dismiss this one with it being an SE. Has the msport seats factory fitted and is pretty much identical to a sport

I'd be wary of SE's, can be tough to sell on once you're finished with it.

We owned both a SE and Sport coupe and when we decided to sell one it was the sport that went.

I really like the built in Sat Nav? Its a buying point for me. Its easily updated via a firmware disc so has speed cameras and postcode search etc.its not as good as a tomtom etc but slso is the screen for on board computer readings etc. Xenons are definitely great. But you can fit hid kits cheaply. Get out and drive some. I love the black with red leather look tho.

Think I missed you by a few minutes this afternoon mate, at the Carbon Black in Oxford. Cheapo rear tyres and a broken cup holder were about all that was wrong, but the colour combo got me in its grips and I had to buy it  .

Good luck with the hunt, it's worth holding out for the spec and colour you want. I drove a Ruby Black with black leather & silver interior before and it just wasn't as special inside.

I agree with you, plus this only has half leather. Stick to Sport models

Yup went to look at it today but decided that it wasn't for me! Glad you are pleased with it, is a lovely colour combination  as you say the rear tyres I had never actually heard of before, chinese ditch finders! The search continues, actually might go look at one with that combination tomorrow but wouldn't be my first choice if I'm honest. Enjoy the car :)

Well I've just spotted this, the only thing it doesn't have listed that I would want is Xenons, however it says it has headlight washers and sensors, do these only come with xenons or can non xenon cars have them too?

Looks a fantastic car with a fantastic colour combination.

Looks like Monaco blue and extended champagne interior. These combinations aren't found too often. If the only thing missing is xenons I'd go for it. Looks a fair price also.

Doooooo it
