The Chimaera are lovely cars. I certainly enjoyed those that I have driven. Such a wonderful engine note and a really old school feel to them that belies their age.

Great to cruise around in and enjoy that engine note. Just don't jack up one corner and look at the body lines. The flex is quite alarming!

cant be that bad surely? don't think in all my years i ever read a comment about body flex on the TVRs....

Er, there are loads of threads on PH and also full test rig reports if you are really interested. Also there is the Mclaren test rig story.

I don't mean to knock them really, I'm a big fan. The test drove I had in one of the last Tamora's, was fantastic.

So much fun, zero electronic intervention and stunning looks. I was looking to buy at the time, but was told by TVR Silverstone, to wait for the quality improvements. Sadly they shut down shortly afterwards.

Problem is if I keep driving it to work then the miles will keep increasing which will not help its value

You need to decide, is it a car or an investment?

If the former, drive it and don't worry. If the latter, store it and drive something else.

I had the same dilemma with the Maser when they were supposedly on the 'up', then the wife pointed out how much per mile it cost not to use it, so I drive it much more. If the resale is a few grand lower as it has some more miles on it, so what? I bought it to drive, not to polish.

Incidentally the Mrs' Z4MC is also her daily.
