Thinking about lowerng. Want some opinions or advice.

I've started to get bored of the current look and I feel like the wheels look small while the tyres look too chunky. I was thinking of lowering her by a few mm or maybe getting some lower profile tyres. Maybe even a combination of both. What do you think?

Eibachs look great (15mm to 20mm off standard), or a B12 Bilstein kit if you can afford it (the B12 is Eibachs with the B8 shocks added).

You won't regret the look and the ride imho isn't that harsh.

If you do buy the B12 kit look for prices over in Germany. Think the B12 kit here is about £850 or something. I got mine including shipping from Germany for around £550.

That link I posted earlier is for the B12 kit by the way. Was posting while walking to the car so no time for small talk. I would consider shocks as well as if they are in any way slightly tired then lowering springs only will reduce their lifespan.

I had rubbing on both front and rear with H&R's lowering springs with my 224s on standard tyres, nothing major. Now on coilovers with no issues,

Don't want to thread hi-jack but I'm in a similar boat so though me and the op would benefit asking it here.
Does anyone have AP coilovers and what do they think of them?

You're asking for trouble if you lower the car and keep the M sized tyres.

I was thinking I may need to get lower profile tyres. Tyres are due in about a month. I'll probably change the tyres then get it lowered. Do we know anyone with a Zed lowered on 224's ? I want to see what it looks like.

I've also noticed a lot of kits lower the front more than the rear or vice versa. Is there any benefit to this?

Ran AP's on my e36. Good kit. Almost identical design to KW's kit.

I personally agree that Eibach pro lowering kit is the way to go :) The ride is slightly harder, but that also comes from putting 19" wheels/lower profile tyres. Easy to fit so probably worth trying with existing wheels/tyres and see if you like the look before buying new tyres/wheels. If you go down this route, you may prefer spacers on the wheels as filling the arch out a little adds a great deal to the look IMO. I have 265/30/19 on the rear and 235/35/19 on the front and got the right offset wheels to fill the arches without any rubbing etc.

The Eibachs, provide the look I wanted and the compromise was relatively small (i.e. The ride is hard but not too hard and has the ability the ability to go over speed bumps without the floorpan dropping off the car :driving: )

good luck which ever way you go, and it is such a beautiful car that should be exactly how you want it to be and not how someone else thinks it should be!

I think it's due to weight distribution e.g. When you sit in the car, the rear end drops a lot as you're sitting almost over the rear tyres.
