Still a really perfect opportunity to swap in some new caps to one of the amps imo and u can also do an A-B listening test to compare seein as u'v got two identical working amps.

I'll probably recap my own, and refit it, once I find the problem! These amps are more expensive than the roadster side covers! There's only one on Ebay and it's over £330

With your recent run of bad luck i'd suggest u make absolutely sure you ground urself before tinkering, just in case :wink: :thumbsup:

Was thinking about it as I was stuck in the traffic on the way home!!

So, the RH channel output is low, and there's no treble coming from the speaker. Left sounds fine until you crank it up, and then it starts dropping out, so I wonder if there is a partial short in a cable on the RH channel, bleeding off the higher frequencies? And then when the volume is cranked up, the short is overloading the amps power supply circuit causing the drop outs?

Thoughts?

Try swapping speaker units before cables to rule them out.
Or is it low on all r ch speakers?

Def low on the mid and tweeters, will get my hands to the bass drivers to check. Luckily I now have a spare for every speaker.

If u think theres a volume imbalance on all speakers btwn l & r then u can assume theres a short somewhere.
If its one or two speakers then def swap in individual speakers...

Ok, think I'm getting somewhere. Went to the far corner of the tesco car park so as not to about the neighbours. Popped one of my fave audio testing tracks on, "Morning" by Beck and had a tinker.

Fader to rear, sounds fine, bit muffled as the mids are behind the seats, but plenty punchy with lots of bass, so the subs are working. Tried left and right rears and no discernible difference.

Fader to front... At low volume, sounds fine BUT the right is definitely "flat" in the treble region. Crank it up and the left starts dropping out, move the balance to the left and all is fine. So, rears fine, front left fine on it's own or with the rear, front right muffled on it's own and causing the left to do at high volume until balance moved away from it. I think I have the culprit. Will try disconnecting speakers at door loom, if this stops the dropout, then it could be a short in the door, I hope so as that'll be the easiest to trace. One thing I will try back at home is disconnecting the iso adaptor leads to the Parrot kit, just in case it's that.
