I don't think anyone said they disagree with what you said, i just found it unlikely that at max chat a 35is would pull away from an M4. On paper, at least, it should be no competition in the M4's favour. In my experience of both i'd of agreed with the paper expectation too.
I reckon an Octavia vrs could keep up with the M4![]()
Only if it were a diesel. We all know how much torque those have![]()
I see wha you did there... and remember it's not how much you've got it what you do with it.aquazi said:R.E92 said:Only if it were a diesel. We all know how much torque those have![]()

And also if you read my post it will say there was no other traffic and never went over speed limit... You telling me you have never put your foot down just to get to the sped limit... I don't think so![]()
Depends what you mean by better. I know someone who races an A80 Supra in a class they don't/can't up the power that much due to the rules. One of the first things they did was to swap the gearbox for a modern one which is rated for 250kW/550Nm, this results in a useful weight saving & increase in wheel power.stuartinzg said:I don't understand the argument of newer is better. Not always the case.

I've only got a partial curve for that because you need an up change with the throttle in kick down.

This is possibly the best part of the 435xd. Daily drive includes this move and the 35iS used to wag it's tail all over the place as it struggled for grip.sars said:techathy said:to highlight the grip of the thing I gave it all the beans, in Sport+ pulling out of a T junction turning left onto a duel carriageway. No wheel spin just traction, stationary to about 50 mph took a shade over 3 seconds (second hand on an analogue watch so take with a small pinch of salt) . We got back to work and he had a big grin on his face, he said thanks for that, really made my day, wow what a car![]()

He looked over, and started pouring diesel in, and I saw he was wearing a nice suit, but he noticed he has diesel all over his hands. He had to go get a tissue, then a plastic glove. I could see him enviously looking over at me, smug, sniffing those lovely petrol fumes, with a clean hand![]()
But, just to rub salt into the wound, we pulled out and I drove off, gave it some beans, the engine cracking and popping - which was proceeded by this strange Dyson sounding thing behind me![]()
