Think I should have test driven one

I guess I should have really driven one before I bought one :headbang:

Yes! Especially for such a divisive car.

Give it a chance though - lots of good advice in this thread - and no harm if you don’t really bond with it. I still find it an unnerving car to drive, even after nearly three years of ownership, but you need to put a lot into it to get a lot out. :driving:

Fitted the Gruppe yet?

No not yet .... have this hesitation issue ( see other thread ) I want to get this sorted and then I’ll fit the gruppe M , f10 zhp gear knob and a few other bits I’ve got . It’s in with the detailers until tomorrow getting a proper paint correction / ceramic coating . Been sent some pics and it’s looking stunning .

Now that is annoying. Fortunately I had over an hour’s hooning shakedown - I mean test drive, a few meets before & a negotiation that ran from Feb to June (or since 2014 when we first spoke) before we shook... & then the guy even drove it over to me & I took him back home.

Long story but that way I knew exactly what I was getting & touch wood so far not looked back. The Gruppe acts as a reminder (if u ever needed one) to get ready & hang on tight...

Fingers x is an easy fix

Yep bit annoying but is the way with 2nd hand older cars I guess .... don’t mind spending some money on it . I’m sure it’s nothing major

Just bumping this ....

Really started to enjoy the car now ! Getting used to the engine noises and general concerns.. So much so that the little S2k hasn’t seen the light of day for 3 weeks ! So much fun in the wet the other day , traction control off , small roundabouts ... so predictable , manageable .... really need to get the gruppe M fitted !

Ah ha, so you’ve finally caught the //M virus... it’s more common to catch it before rather than afterwards.

Before the sun goes on holiday, suggest to get the Gruppe fitted because whilst you may now think you’re in love, this will bring mind tingling o o o o o Ohhhhh’s.... just watch out for when she bites when going DSC naked

Yes really looking forward to it  .....want to buy a black silicone bit of pipe , as the one supplied with the kit is blue . Just looks wrong in the engine bay !

If u do find the correct fit could u post pics and a link as I’d be interested in doing the same as I think a few others may do aswell. 🍻

Is this the bit you are on about?

Given it’s under the hood, that’s the lamest excuse I’ve ever heard for not fitting it :poke:

Get a few miles under your belt and don’t chuck the towel in yet or you will have missed what these cars are all about ,remember top gear and Hammonds disappointing first drive compared to the Boxster ?? But,,,,,once the penny had dropped

Just got back after 2 weeks and 2500 miles driving round France ,Spain and back through France , longest day was 455miles and must say we’ve had a great time in the Z4m really impressed with comfort and performance, it’s what I call a proper car a drivers car you’ve gotta drive it and grab it by the scruff of the neck so to speak to get the best out of it ......if it was a bike it would be a Ducati and anyone whose owned or ridden one will know what I mean....too many modern cars are far to refined and clinical in the way they do things without any feed back to the driver, but, that’s only my opinion

That's really interesting - thanks!

It sounds like I really should try an M, but seeing as I can't afford one just now maybe I'd better wait! :(

One day...….!

Just fitted it

Went for a blast

Got a boner

Happens to me every time

I used to have an ex-girlfriend who liked touching herself in my old 3.0 & telling me to ‘get ready’ - call it ‘//M’ing herself :driving:

Don’t tell anyone...
