Think I might have a sticky caliper - update

Ive noticed when braking from higher speeds Im getting some steering wheel shake , sometimes worse than others. The previous owner changed the pads and discs front and back about a year ago so they should be ok ...

Ive noticed more brake dust on the passenger front than the drivers side so wondering if I have a sticky caliper. Anybody else had that here?

Next time I take it out Ill use my infra red thermometer on each disc and see if any are particularly high. Apart from that, love my new toy!

Sounds like you have a warped disc. If it was a sticky calliper you would have steering shake all the time, feels like the wheels going to fall off.

Took the car on a 15 mile run today, speeds up to 70mph and when I got home I checked the brake disc temps with an infra red heat sensor.

The suspect side was at 230F , the other side 130F. So either a sticking pad or caliper right enough. Next weekend I'll be checking it out with with the help of one of the mechanics in the garage I work in seeing as Ive not done brakes myself lol. Just had a look at the price of a pagid caliper from Euro car parts, £52 with the return of the old caliper... not as bad as I thought.

Had fun on my little run today anyway
