The back number plate on my Z4 has been hanging on by one plastic nut thing since I bought the car and has today finally started hanging down on one side scraping the floor.

I've never fixed a plate to a car before. Do I need to buy a new nut thing ( if so from where ) or has anyone had any success with some sort of double sided sticky tape or pads ?

you can get the standard plastic nuts from anywhere that does plates, for about 50p... I got a set for my bike from Halturds about a month back..

you can also invest in the secureplate things.. but i've never bothered.

As sk93 or use double sided tape - 3M HD (Heavy Duty) is excellent, comes on a roll and can be cut to length/shape etc.

Double-sided tape here or simply "Sticky Fixer" pads - but make sure you get the outdoor ones, not the indoor ones. I prefer sticking plates on, think it's a cleaner look not having two (or four) bolts sticking through the plate. How vain am I?

"Sticky fixers" - are they the little foam things with sticky stiff either side as sold by H Base etc ?
