I know this question has probably been asked a thousand times so I apologise in advance..

What are the things I should look out for/check when buying a 2007 80k miles Coupe?

Thanks Hutch. How long does the clutch normally last and many miles is normal for Disc and pad replacement?
 
I have been told the Michelin PS have 5mm's left all round
Brake Pads inner and outer have 13mm
Brake Discs - Front - 26mm and Rear - 23mm
Rear Springs replaced at 59k miles.

How does that sound?
 
I would check.

Service history including running in service and intervals.
Tyres
Brakes
Vanos
Head Gasket (marbles in a van under load up a hill)
Tailgate rust
Rear springs
Listen for any knocks on a test drive and check it brakes straight and has no wheel wobble etc.

Also look at MOT history to see if that brings up any previous advisories.
 
I honestly can't remember tbh mate there was a post somewhere about it.

I would also check tyre date codes too

So many are sold with only the two main keys. Glad to say mine has all three though.

You don't. I've had it for some of my beemers, some I haven't. Never bothered me when I haven't had my 'valet' key, never used it!
 
Obvious ticking or knocking sound from the engine.

Any little signs that show it might have been in an undeclared shunt, e.g. front wing or bumper misaligned.

Leaking from the underside - engine or diff.

Ask about the ABS pump specifically - whether it has been replaced or refurbed

Not really sure what the 3rd key is for to be fair - bit of a chocolate teapot IMO!

If you lock the car with 1 of the proper ones then opening the car with the plastic one sets the alarm off (found this out at an airport parking site)! :roll:

I'd put much more time and effort into previous history and general condition. :thumbsup:
