I was not offended by the term w*nkers. I was offended by the fact that people who might be less economically fortunate were being labelled w*nkers, joke or not.
I am also offended by the fact that I don't seem to be allowed to be offended. And I don't give a monkeys what Stephen Fry has to say about the term 'offence' whether he has 2 million Twitter followers or not.
However, I was not going to comment upon it further or threaten never to post an opinion again, as in my opinion this is usually done in order to encourage people to tell me that I should continue to do so. I was merely going to think my own thoughts and be done with it.
Also, for the person offended by the 'flying arse' it is in fact an Arsch mit Ohren, which is a perfectly accceptable descriptive term in the German language, so I am now offended on a cultural level.
Mostly I shall be p*ssing off now to be offended in the privacy of my own living room, although Rusky's comment did make me laugh.
