I was out in the Z today with my Sister as she was coming to look at a house with me as my wife is working. We were running a little late so I was "making progress" around the outer Norwich ring road. The road was fairly quiet and I was being sensible, using indicators, giving plenty of room etc. when I became aware of a silver Mondeo keeping pace with me a few car lengths back. The second time I glanced at it in the rear view mirror on came the flashing headlights and grill mounted blue lights and I thought "oh bugger". I backed off down to the national speed limit to pull over at the next layby but the police car just pulled up alongside me, the officer simply signalled for me to slow down and then carried on his way. albeit at 75mph.

So, thank you Mr Policeman, I'm very grateful for your discretion :)
 
It certainly promtes more respect.

It may not have been quite the same if you'd been driving without indicators an leaving room I would guess.
 
This is really going to show my age!
In 1963, I collected a brand new Triumph Bonneville from the showroom and thought I have a run down the M2 to try it out. As I was obviously still running it in, I was not doing any great speed, however I became aware of a white car following me and soon realised that it was of the police variety. We continued in convoy for quite a few miles, and I then turned off the motorway to join the A249 - and my white car was still in tow. Eventually it overtook and as it did so the officer in the passenger side indicated for me to pull over. I had no idea what I'd done wrong, but thought I must have done something. They parked in front of me and as they got out, I saw that the officer from the passenger side, was wearing police motorcycle gear. I got the customary "good morning sir" and was waiting for the worst, but all they wanted to do was look at the new, unit construction Bonneville, of which mine was the first in Kent. They were both Triumph owners, we talked bikes for a while and they went on their way - nice guys.

Great picture. love that bike. It has personality.
