Well, I'm waiting for number 3 as we speak :(

Whilst working (safely out of the way I thought) in the garage I have managed to put a bloody great scratch in my wheel arch :headbang:

Took the car out today and there is now a bullseye in the lower part of the windscreen from an impact :x

Was debating about what to do about the scratch and now that's made up my mind, Mr Dealer will be having it to do the scratch and replace the windscreen at the same time.

Anyone any idea on the cost of a new screen for a Z4 ?

Yeah just pay an excess of £100 ish depending on who you're insured with. Doesn't count as a claim.

Shouldn't affect your insurance tbh. Bmw will subcontract work anyways

Cost wise prob cost you around 350 plus vat insurance price prob around 500

Chin up hope there isn't number 3

Scratch is not the type that'll come out. Way too deep for that. It's a paint job of some sort.

Will let them see the screen to discuss repair options. Never really liked the thought of driving a car with a repaired screen though. Been in a car where the screen has given out at speed and it isn't funny.

On the windscreen if you want BMW to provide the screen and fit it rather than what your insurer recommends i.e. Autoglass etc check with them first as they might play funny as it will be more expensive with BMW, I've known insurers to want you to pay up front in full and claim back off them if you don't go with their winscreen company.

Hope the scratch is sorted, I would discuss it with the BMW bodyshop as metallics especially silver can be hard to blend in and can show up darker.

Tim.

Know the BMW screen option is dodgy with insurance. TBH I think I'll be up against it anyway as it's a relatively small area off damage and according to Autoglass' guidance, it's repairable. If I want it replaced, think my insurance company won't want to play ball with the cost anyway

Already in discussion with BMW on the paint and yes, aware of the problem of matching silvers. Looks like that could be expensive to sort too :(

Just hope that's it for the moment :headbang:
