rabman5, haven't seen you around for a while

I still lurk from time to time. Don't post much as after 5 years, (previous car was a 2004 3.0) I don't have much more to say that hasn't already been said. :D

Still love driving my car though

Out early today for a long run in the sunshine, got some really good runs on some B roads and the car was absolutely fantastic :)

Oh how I love this car, the noise from the exhausts, loads of dust and gravel on the roads so lots of slippery moments 8). When you haven't used it much for the Winter you forget just what an awesome machine the M is.

Amen to that, had the same experiences all weekend myself, even managed a first run across the Snake Pass in beautiful sunshine  :driving:

OMG!
I'd forgotten just how much fun these are to drive.
Just got home from picking my M Coupe up in Chicago;
650 miles of drizzle & crappy rain the entire way.
Did I care? no way!
I was home, with that sweet S54 underfoot again.
Heaven, absolute heaven

Actually I prefer my "M" over just about anything else in crap wind, rain weather which we have had a lot of lately... :driving:

I look forward to a wet day, gives me chance to fall in love with the /M Diff all over again

Exactly and you can get the back end out a little without shredding the tires.... :driving:

my only worry - and it is a big one - is what on earth will be able to give me such extreme thrills this side of a gallardo when it's time to upgrade

Buy an iS :fuelfire:

lol. Sorry, whilst I'll be watching the pics of your new car and I'm very jealous, it's not the car for me.

Does the iS have an LSD? I reckon mine would have been quite warm on the trip I did at lunchtime, good job there was no Melbourne police about, I was slightly exhuberant too 8) :driving:

OH dear oh dear oh dear
When are u guys gonna bite the biscuit and realise the 2.0 is the better car!?!?!?!? Come on guys...just admit it

(Willing to prove it to you by swapping with any ///m owner for rest of year/ownership duration to prove my point)

I would have done, but on your picture I can see a heavily t-cutted car and I just could not cope with that :poke:

I'm a new owner and ill admit I didnt fall for the car on the drive home about 2 weeks ago from Notts to Chigwell...

But the car gets under your skin, every time I get in it i'm searching for that inch perfect seating position, the perfect launch, the perfect way to take that sweeping left hander, learning to have faith in the slightly vague front end and to lean on the grip getting a little bit more adventurous with the throttle travel each time... 8)

I don't drive it daily, I have a Yaris 1.5 T Sport for that but I cant wait til I do every time now and I HAVE fallen for it. 8) 8) 8)

Oh forgot to mention, with the crappy weather of late I havent even had the hardtop off yet! Tbh im waiting for that perfect day as I want my first time to be just right.

Andy, another Imola red Roadster :D you are so right about these cars

I too have no idea what will replace it in years to come...at present my plan is to keep her for 5 years, by then we'll probably be unable to drive them on public roads unless we pay £1,000 CO2 tax.
Ehem... and don't forget the Imola Red Coupé! 8)

Good writeup, Andy!

Forgotten...

Nice Avitar :D

Enough about shims!!! :) I've got that to face next week.

Took the car out tonight into Wales and did much of the North Wales run we did earlier in the year. After 7 o'clock the roads were pretty much deserted, except for a Police car on the Evo triangle - I decided to stay behind him as he was doing about 55 so... :)

The car was absolutely stunning, never missed a beat tore up and down the roads, exhausts wailing away and me with a big stupid grin on my face. Never met a woman yet who could get me that excited after three years together :) What a car and what roads in North Wales
