Yes, the depreciation is horrendous but I'm afraid I'm after the ragtop which is a bit dearer :(

Andy - thanks for bumping this thead..... nice to revisit your write up.
Right now, my baby has been put to bed with a battery tender to keep her warm.
It's going to be a looooog winter :(
:( :( :( :( :( We have so much snow now I can't even get out for a Saturday morning spin - Its been 2.5 weeks and I'm going through serious withdrawl.
Today was the Day! Dry roads, temp just below freezing so no melt run off. Took her out for a 1/2 hour blast and a top up of V-Power. What a freaking car :!:

dont they just feel so much more incredible in thin cold air & when you haven't driven them for a while.. magnificent beasts.

Just to add my note of confidence to the 'rag it from new' method, as this is exactly what I've done with both the Z4MR (14.5k) and the MCS (19k) although I'm always careful, particularly with the MINI to cool/warm them up properly at the end of a spirited drive.

My seat of the pants (vvv. scientific) thrashometer tells me that both cars rev far more willingly than others I've driven and the MINI certainly feels as if its producing more power than many hire jobbies I've had the misfortune to use.

Drive it like you stole it.

Today was brilliant! Cold, Sunny, no run off - went our for 20 miles or so - came back and cleaned the dust off with the soft cloths and a couple of buckets of clean water...

Wonder how many from this original thread still own them, I know there's a few been and gone but I can think of at least 4/5 from this period who still have them.

I love the fact that reading this back, I still feel exactly the same, coming up to 3 years on from when I started this thread.

I defy most modern cars to give this kinda feeling / satisfaction to their owners in the same way the Zed has. 8)

I agree Andy, only had mine since November and I totally love the car

What a machine!!

Still got mine from new too :)

Love it and honestly have no desire to replace it, I just keep modding it to be that "little" bit faster and it still thrills me :)

Hey,good thread/and,although i dont have an m,i complty agree that the zeds are great. had my 3.0i se since early 2007 and still loving it to bits, having done a few minor mods, and if/when its replaced,it will be an m rdstr for sure :D nice 2 see same thoughts after 3yrs!!

As for the lambos post(ANDY/SIXSPEED),i too love them. the lp640 muircielago takes it that step further, and has an awesome 'bark' on the down change
(having driven 1 round thruxton),so that wld be my dream next car/just not in my price range, haha
Any1 got a spare 212k??,lol

Still got mine from new!!!

Looking forward to first outing in 2010 soon ! , now where did I put those keys......... :driving:

I've had mine for 2 /12 years now. Bloody hell time flies.

My car has done a couple of Euro trips including the Ring. Bedford, Snetterton, Oulton Park, Silverstone, Brands Hatch, commuting and trips to Tesco's. It has not missed a beat but I have spent a fair amount of money on tyres!

My best purchase - RS29 brake pads!

When will it go? - Originally my plan was to replace it after 3 years but my latest toy has stripped all my reserves (and some!) so I will be keeping the Z4MC for the foreseeable future. And I don't mind 1 bit!

Probably the best car I have ever owned. 8)

I have no plans to replace mine... :driving:

Does the COupe have a higher owned turnover do you think? Recently I've been noticing more Coupe's for sale than Roadsters, yet I think more Roasters were made?

Pistonheads shows 17 Coupes vs 4 Roadsters.
BMW search however reveals only a few less Roadsters for sale than Coupes (15 Cvs 13 Roasters I think)

Well I've had mine nearly three years and thought hard about swapping to a Porsche but I've seen sense now and the 'M' will be staying for at least another year. Roll on Springtime and some warmer weather!
