Thermostat activation

Had a MAP thermostat activation error code appear a few times now, 3.0 si N52 engine.

No over heating or running cold, temp gauge sits exactly in the middle as it should and car runs great!

Anyone else experienced this issue, is it just the thermostat or an early sign my pump is failing??

Already bought a thermostat but wanted your thoughts before I go ahead and change it as would rather do pump at same time if required!

if you can read the coolant temp, you should be able to see if the thermostat is activating, I know on intravee car shows 97-99 normally, put it in 6th as say 30 and accelerator all way down, this should tell thermostat to open and temp should drop a few degrees withing a few seconds

Thanks for the info, don't have intravee... what is it exactly? Do have Carly but typically the parameter section doesn't work so can't check what's going on in the engine, in talks with tech support but it's like pulling teeth!

intravee is ipod thing, but on sat nav can display live temps / speed etc.

Ah, no sat nav so not an option really... will just have to swap and hope that stops the code from reappearing!
