I took a deposit on my 986 Boxster last weekend and the guy wanted to pick it up Tuesday before going to France for a few days. After a couple of bank issues the money shows up in my account as cleared funds and the deal is complete, he collected the car and that was that, until I checked my bank account on Wednesday evening....... he had paid me again! There had been issues getting me the money without it being in hyperspace for 24hrs so obviously he hadn't cancelled his first attempt. Anyway I text him to let him know that although he loved the car paying me twice was unnecessary and to send me his bank details and I would return it (it was also cleared funds) He sent me them yesterday when back from France and I sent the money straight away as I should imagine he was somewhat stressed when he found out. I get a text from him yesterday afternoon thanking me for making it so easy, quick and painless to get his money back and he'd sent me £25 so my wife and I could have a drink on him. How nice is that and it restores your faith in human nature!

PS.... I will be checking my account today to see if he sent the £25 twice :rofl:
 
Good on you too Pastry for sorting the funds back so quickly, he must be one relieved buyer. I say you deserve the drink, good on ya! :thumbsup:

It would be nice to think everyone would give it straight back but I'm not so sure in this day and age. Cheers, I had a couple or 3 on him :thumbsup:

Yes they were cash, straight from his account to mine.

Nice story - hope the first payment doesn't now bounce and you're out by a car and a payment - just kidding :)
