Trying not to write another epic post here ...
Brakes.
Standard rotors are like slabs.
Aftermarket come in all sorts of arrangements ...
Holes,
Grooves,
Some with holes and grooves ?
Standard brakes and pads are probably the best I have had compared to my other vehicles.
And they are working just fine..
Actually Ive been told that for track use (assuming extreme conditions on the track - not for a day out to picnic and watch the races)
For track used a solid (or floating) disc is recommended. ie. one that isn't blemished by holes or grooves.
I recall 'stories' ...tales of the advantage of holes and grooves ...
Off gassing some sort of chemical or dust created by the pad gripping the rotor ..
And the holes and grooves improved the function of the physics of the assembly.
Im not convinced the scientists quoted aren't actually marketing managers wearing scientist masks.
By the way Im a wiz at Physics and biology, but somewhat lacking in Chemistry. Not my fault. It was a 'new age professor" that failed me ..a very long story!
Here is what I want from the collected Zed Intelligencia ...
When you ramped up your Zed with new fancy smancy, some might call them violated rotors ...
With brightly painted brackets of course...
And recognizing that if you just dropped 3 grand on a BBK you kinda have to report a huge improvement ...
(Be honest - It's the rare individual who would admit anything but an improvement after that..
What's yer experience with aftermarket brake 'upgrades'
Plus ..How are you supposed to know what pads to buy?
I thought I was solving future problems when I went with ceramic pads on my Van, only to discover those same indestructible pads , ate rotors double time ...
I await your bright light at the end of my tunnel
